At the beginning of November, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) on General Hospital teased an interview with Genie Francis, and now he followed that up by explaining that Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer) watched the State of Mind episode. He thinks it’s awesome. Read on to find out why.
Anthony As Luke
Longtime ABC daytime drama viewers know that Anthony used to play the role of Luke. Meanwhile, Genie played the role of Laura Spencer. Back in 1981, the scenes of their GH wedding screamed through the roof with viewer ratings. Well, Maurice is good friends with both of them.
In his latest podcast when Genie Francis appeared with him, they talked a lot about her acting career. However they also took a deep dive into how Genie copes with social anxiety. The pair bonded, but historically all three of them bonded.
Shouting Out His Friends
On Instagram on Tuesday, Maurice Benard shared a short reel that showed Anthony Geary watching the interview. Perhaps his friend sent it to him.

The only thing better than Genie Francis on @mbstateofmind is Tony Geary watching genie on STATE OF MIND. I have the utmost respect for Tony I saw him in a one-man play. I’ve never seen better acting in my life. Soap operas began with Tony and genie I’m so happy to consider them my friend[s].

The Cast Seems Tight-Knit
From various social media posts, and from the State of Mind podcast by Maurice Benard, it seems as if the GH cast are very close and not just as actors. Many of them seem to become friends. For instance, Maurice hangs with Marcus Coloma (formerly Nikolas Cassadine), and Laura Wright (Carly Spencer) and Maura West (Ave Jerome) seem to have a mutual love for dogs.
