GH’s Jonathan Bennett & Husband Get Fans Talking About Relationship Trust
Jonathan Bennett and Jaymes Vaughan share their approach to marriage, but not everyone agrees with their views on privacy.
General Hospital (GH) star Jonathan Bennett (Detective Joe Fitzpatrick) and his husband, Jaymes Vaughan, are fast becoming role models on social media. This week, they tackled a potentially controversial subject, and once again, they gave fans something to think about.
A Post About Codes
On Tuesday, Jaymes took to Instagram and shared a skit about trust. First, he explained that what he was about to demonstrate might seem a bit “controversial.”
Jaymes called Bennett over, took his phone, and entered the unlock code. Then he handed Jonathan his own phone, which his husband unlocked without needing to ask for the code.
But he wondered what his husband was up to. So Jaymes explained that some folks don’t share phone passwords. The ABC detective seemed amazed to hear that. He asked, “What if there’s an emergency?”
Well, it seemed that Jaymes can’t understand why folks who love each other don’t do that. “Y’all don’t do this?” he asked several times. He also spoke about sharing locations.
In his caption, he asked, “Do you share your phone passwords with your other half?”
Fans Respond
Naturally, demonstrating something that is controversial got some replies in the comments section from General Hospital fans.
One of them was in complete agreement, writing, “If you can’t share your password with your significant other, then something sketchy is going on. Red flag all day.”
Meanwhile, others of a similar mindset agreed. But one person balked at sharing locations, joking, “That location thing is tough. I mean does he have to know that I’m at the drive-thru lol.”
On a sadly serious note, one follower explained how difficult it was when their partner passed away because they needed important documentation and couldn’t access it.
In part, they said, “In the moment of dealing with doctors, surgeons, hospital administrators, it made things extremely difficult, please share your passwords with your partner/husband/wife.”
Trust Between Partners
Another fan raised the idea of trust by writing, “Couples who don’t have trust issues share those things.”
Well, that seems to be an interesting point. But trust and control are different things. Another GH follower talked about how it is important to track each other, but “in a loving way, not a creepy way.”

In recent weeks, Jonathan Bennett and Jaymes Vaughan have been taking to social media and they dropped some amusing one-liners.
They even managed to make their colonoscopy sound hilarious. But it was very touching for fans who love them to see how Jaymes was there for his partner when he had some polyps removed.
Colonoscopies are not fun at all, but their advocacy effort was so good that we reported some followers said they felt less afraid.
On another occasion, Jonathan Bennett pranked his husband into thinking he was being hassled in a bathroom. Instantly, Jaymes rushed in to save his special love.
That’s trust. Knowing that you can call your loved one and get a fast response. Sharing passwords? Well, that’s a personal choice. But for Jonathan and Jaymes, it seems to be another way of showing how much they trust each other.”
