General Hospital Spoilers: Jax Did What He Had To Do
Jax is a father who wants to stay away from Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) line of business and wants his daughter nowhere near it. He’s put up with it for years because he knew Carly loved Sonny but thought if he was gone, she would try to distance herself from his business. Instead, she’s gone all in and even plans to marry Jason (Steve Burton) to become a mafia power couple. Josslyn’s life is constantly in danger and Jax is tired of it. To protect his daughter, he did what he had to do.
While it’s unclear what Jax would have done with the recording since he can’t sue for custody of an 18-year-old, but he just needed to have Carly recorded just in case he finds that he needs some evidence one day. He also got Carly to admit some things about herself to herself, and that’s always a good thing to have on record since self-awareness is not Carly’s strong suit.
Jax Betrayed Carly’s Trust
Jax may have thought he was acting in the best interest of his daughter, but he also betrayed the trust of a woman he once loved and shares a child with. Jax and Carly had a deep trust between them that transcended their divorce and a connection they don’t have with other people. They may not be in love anymore, but Carly always thought he would be on her side. Then, he recorded her behind her back to one day get her in big trouble if need be.
