Before he arrived as Jack Brennan on General Hospital (GH),
Chris McKenna played a number of other roles. So this weekend, he reminded his ABC followers that he also acted in Lucifer, the series on Netflix. Read on for more details.
Reminding Fans About Ben Rivers
If you ever watched Lucifer, you’ll know that Tom Ellis played the role of Lucifer Morningstar from 2016 to 2021. But, if you’re a new General Hospital fan, you might not know that Chris McKenna appeared in an episode on the Netflix show as a detective. Of course, he’s also a detective on GH.
On the weekend, Chris took to his Instagram stories and reminded fans that he was on the show. Probably, it was filmed in 2016, but the episode aired in 2017. In the episode, he played the role of Ben Rivers.
The Ben Storyline
Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt), was a powerful demon who worked with Lucifer, who’d gotten bored with Hell and relocated as a human to Los Angeles. Well Mazikeen, it turned out, liked Ben and tried to help him.
He’d been shot by some bad guys but the bullet remained in his body. One of his lines became quite well-known as he said, “I don’t belong to anyone.”
Talking about the bullet he said, “Oh, you know what, I’ve grown kind of attached to it. I think I’m gonna keep it.” Certainly, Chris McKenna brought some humor to the rather dark story.
At the time of Lucifer, many fans really liked the main character, who seemed to fluctuate between being as good as he could be. But he never successfully shed the persona of evil.
As Chris didn’t post the reminder on his profile page, folks couldn’t comment on the story. However, years ago, they did, long before his arrival on GH as Jack Brennan.
Fans Reacted To The Role
On the r/lucifer subreddit five years ago, an OP wrote:
…looking at Maze’s trouble with a lack of a soul and a lack of a partner, looking back at previous seasons, I think I found the perfect guy for her….Ben Rivers, one of Maze’s bounties had a perfect chemistry with her throughout the entire episode. His personality and the dynamic between the two of them match perfectly with hers. What do you think?
Others agreed that they were great, and one fan said that they hoped Ben would return to the series. They wrote, “I totally agree they were perfect together, i hope he comes back in a future episode.”
Unfortunately, Chris McKenna only appeared in that single episode. Actually, when the series ended, many folks felt unhappy that it was over. The TV star known for his role as Mark Harding on The Young and The Restless went on to film as Marc Rothman on Good Trouble.
Now, he’s on GH, and many ABC fans enjoy his character as Jack Brennan.
