General Hospital Star Maurice Benard Opens Up About Daughter’s Adoption
General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Maurice Benard, who plays the role of Sonny Corinthos on the daytime drama, talked about someone very special to him, his daughter. Heather was his latest guest in his weekly YouTube series called, State of Mind.
In 2008, Benard and his wife, Paula adopted Heather when she was 15 years old when her mother died. The actor said that welcoming her into their family was the “most beautiful” part of their adoption experience.
Heather’s Life Before Getting Adopted
Heather knew the Benards even before she got adopted. She spent a lot of time with the actor’s kids, Cassidy, Cailey, and Joshua during her school breaks. She admitted in an interview that her biological mother was a prostitute and she was “born on drugs.”
Heather revealed that thanks to Paula, she didn’t turn out like her biological mother. She didn’t do drugs or alcohol because Paula was a good mother and an example to her. She also shared that even when she was young, she questioned the choices made by her peers. She didn’t do that bad stuff because she knew better.
She added that she remembered being left alone when she was a child. She was a sensitive kid so being left all by herself was better than being with adults. Not only that, but she also experienced some “trauma” during her childhood years and doesn’t remember everything that happened when she was a kid. She’s thankful that there are gaps in her memory because she doesn’t recall being surrounded by drugs when she was young.
Benard told Heather that having her as his daughter was “beautiful.” He’s also thankful that he’s now a grandfather after Heather gave birth to Cailey.
General Hospital Spoilers: Victor Cassadine Sees Maxie Jones’s Sonogram Photo
Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will become more suspicious after seeing Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) sonogram photo. Victor once offered to keep Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) sonogram of “Bailey Quartermaine” (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt).
The little time Victor had to look at the sonogram will be enough to prove his suspicions. He’ll be making some inquiries at GH soon and he’ll eventually find out that “Bailey” is Louise.
Esme Prince Creates More Trouble
Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) will create more trouble when she tells Cameron Webber (William Lipton) that Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) doesn’t want Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez). She’ll pretend that Trina likes Cameron before their cabin getaway.
