General Hospital Star Laura Wright Reflects On Carly’s Little Enlightenment Story

General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly’s own little Nixon Falls story coming to a close now that she has scattered her mother’s ashes in some weird version of the Atlantic Ocean.

General Hospital Spoilers: How Did Carly Get Here?

Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) still needs a new last name, as she said herself, but all she originally wanted to do was attend a leadership conference in Aruba. Instead, the plane she was on had to make an emergency landing in Jacksonville, Florida where she grew up and where she learned the adoptive mother’s grave she hadn’t visited in 20 years was going to be dug up.

She also ran into Peyton Roberts Honeycutt (Linda Purl), the mother of Reese Roberts, otherwise known as the original Carly Roberts, the friend who allegedly died in a car accident when Carly was a teen, but who showed up in Port Charles very much alive years later.

With Drew Cain by her side, Carly came to terms with the mistakes she made as a teen sleeping with Reese’s father, but never mentioned that Reese never really died in that accident.

Carly Is Newly Enlightened

Somehow, Carly thinks she came out of this with a new outlook on life, and Laura Wright can explain it all.

“I just found that this is the journey Carly is on; she had to come to terms with everything that had happened to her and the choices she made that came from what happened to her,” Wright said in the October 31, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “Carly ran from Jacksonville…She was 16 years old when she was seduced by this man. She was a child, you know. It wasn’t like she was able to make grown-up decisions.”

Well, she has been a grown-up now for a few decades not always making grown-up decisions, but Wright thinks this story has been a journey toward more maturity for grown of Carly. We shall see, as Port Charles will still have all the people Carly resents when she makes it back there with her new boyfriend Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) by her side. After all, she still hates Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and still thinks she is always right. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how Carly’s new life pans out
