General Hospital Star Laura Wright Justifies Carly’s Latest Big Secret

General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly Corinthos walking around Port Charles with yet another secret about who someone’s real parents are. That’s been her shtick for decades and nothing seems to have changed.

General Hospital’s Carly Keeps Doing The Same Thing

When Carly first arrived in Port Charles, she was keeping the secret of who her own parents were. She knew she was the daughter Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) gave up for adoption at birth and it took her quite a while to confess that one. She also kept her son Michael’s paternity a secret for as long as possible and didn’t want to tell Nikolas Cassadine (then played by Tyler Christopher) that Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis) was his.

Carly got herself in her latest Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) mess by not bothering to tell Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) that Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) was the daughter she was searching for. That led Nina not to tell Carly that Sonny was alive and living in a small Pennsylvania town with amnesia. Now, Carly is aware that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is Nelle’s twin and also Nina’s daughter, but she is once again keeping mum

Laura Wright Gets Why Carly Does It

Although secrets and lies keep ruining Carly’s life, she always justifies her actions so she can live with herself and Wright has to play it exactly that way.

“I think she’s putting it out of her head right now, one hundred percent,” Wright said in the August 2, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “I don’t think it’s weighing on her at all. She’s just lost her hotel, she’s getting ready to have another grandchild, so I don’t even think she is thinking about Nina and Willow.”

Plus, Carly just thinks she is helping WIllow and doing exactly what the young woman wants. “Willow told her flat-out to her face ‘I don’t want to know who my mother is. If it turns out to be someone as awful as Nina, it’ll ruin our lives.’ So Carly thought, ‘One less thing for me to worry about. Done.'”

But what will Carly do when she learns that Willow is one sick lady and might need to know more about her genetic history? Will she fess up then? Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to find out.
