General Hospital Spoilers: The Countdown To Carly’s Fate – Will She Live Or Die?

General Hospital: Carly Spencer (Laura Wright)

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) could face dire repercussions from a sip of champagne. Recent developments have left fans anxious about her future, and even Laura Wright has shared her thoughts on the matter—will she survive this ordeal?

Fans Have Been Worried About Several Characters Lately

Tension is brewing between Carly and Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna), as they recently shared drinks in Jack’s room; unbeknownst to them, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was seen lurking nearby.

Carly savored a sip of champagne and encouraged Jack to join her-however, Jack sensed something was amiss and quickly realized the bottle had been tampered with. He knocked the drink from Carly’s hand, but it was too late; she had already consumed enough to put her in danger.

Moments later, she collapsed in the Metro Court suite where Jack is staying, and the two had spent the night, making love for the first time. Meanwhile, Valentin was seen leaving the scene with a sly grin, suggesting his involvement in the unfolding chaos-so obviously he’d be blamed, Jack fearing for his own life as well.

However, Not Everyone Trusts Jack And Carly Had Been Warned

Carly had received warnings about getting involved with Jack, especially from Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who cautioned her against trusting him; ironically, these warnings only fueled her curiosity about him.

When Carly collapsed in his arms after drinking the poisoned champagne, Jack sprang into action, promptly dialing 911 for help. At the hospital, doctors discovered that she had been poisoned with a lethal substance known as polonium, and as her pulse weakened, fans grew increasingly anxious about her fate.

Meanwhile, speculation about the destinies of various characters in Port Charles has been rampant; recently, some viewers have been questioning whether Valentin would be leaving the show. In an intriguing twist, Laura Wright, who plays Carly, may have dropped hints about her character’s future during a recent interview.

The Poison Wasn’t Intended For Carly

Laura remarked that the poison likely wasn’t intended for Carly, adding, “You know, just having a glass of champagne with this man is deadly-so, what are you doing, Carly?” Wright mentioned being warned about Jack-she remarked, “It’s interesting that Carly’s typical response is to resist and declare, ‘I don’t want anyone telling me what to do; I’ll handle it myself.’” Wright added, “Without hesitation, she insists, ‘I know for sure that [Jack] would never let anything happen to me.’”

She also pointed out that Carly’s relationship with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has led her to trust blindly. “He shot her in the head while she was giving birth to Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig)-she’s like, ‘Everyone, back off. I can make my own decisions.’”

Stay Away From An FBI Agent But Remarry A Mobster?

“You’re advising me to avoid Brennan, but if I reunited with Sonny, no one would mind-that doesn’t make sense to her.” Wright also suggested that Carly might be a bit naive, saying, “When it comes to being experienced and well-traveled, I don’t see that in Carly.” She added, “Carly is very focused on her life in Florida and Port Charles-the life Jack leads is unfamiliar to her, and she finds it thrilling.”

However, this quest for excitement could lead her into danger; Wright’s remarks didn’t clarify whether the character will make it through this situation. So, here is what did happen so far in the storyline regarding Carly’s survival.

Carly Did Survive-So Far!

In the episode that aired on Tuesday, March 18, it was revealed that Carly has survived, at least for now. This situation mirrors what happened years ago to her uncle Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) and her ex-brother-in-law Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roche), who were also poisoned. Meanwhile, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was at the hospital with Brennan and reached out to her daughter, Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough), who had created an antidote that saved Luke and Jerry.

The antidote was quickly delivered to the hospital and administered; although she experienced a brief cardiac arrest, she eventually regained consciousness with Brennan by her side. As for Valentin, he struck a deal with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), trading the name of the penthouse bomber, Soliski (uncast), for his freedom while Sonny had a gun pointed at him.

Valentin Will Either Have To Stick Around Port Charles Or Have More Fake Passports Made

However, Valentin now has to stick around, because Sonny has his lockbox containing fake passports, which he won’t return after Valentin was caught breaking into his old house to retrieve them.

The only alternative he would have would be to have more fake passports made, and that would be difficult now that Sonny has seen him. The best guess one could make is that Valentin and Sonny may team up to hunt down the hit man, Soliski, as well as the one who hired him.

On the other hand, upcoming spoilers suggest that Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) finds an unlikely ally. Come on, Valentin, decide already-are you going to be a good guy or a bad guy?
