General Hospital spoilers reveals, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) has had a stressful few months deliberating over whether or not to be screened for Schizophrenia. While he was fairly certain he wouldn’t develop the disorder at his age, the risk of passing it on to a child has given him pause about pursuing fatherhood in the future with his bride-to-be, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). There should be nothing to worry about now, although Portia won’t be able to stop looking over her shoulder for Curtis’ ex. Will Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) let the happy couple be, well, happy?
General Hospital Spoilers — Curtis is Looking Ahead
Curtis will feel the weight of the world lift from his shoulders when the genetic screening results say he doesn’t have the markers for Schizophrenia like his father Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett).
Portia is going to share that sentiment. As far as Curtis knows, Portia was concerned for the same reasons he was, but in reality, Curtis already has a child with Portia, and she’s been desperate to know whether Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was at risk ever since finding out about Marshall’s mental health diagnosis. Curtis is looking ahead with enthusiasm now and ready to plan the wedding of his dreams to Portia, but something — or someone — just might hold her back.
GH Spoilers Indicate Portia Thinks She Did the Right Thing
Portia assumed she would feel the same immense relief Curtis does when she found out he didn’t have the markers for Schizophrenia. So why does she still feel burdened with guilt? It’s likely the huge secret she’s been keeping from the man she’s going to marry — that they had a child together nearly two decades ago and she never told him, letting another man raise Curtis’ daughter. She hasn’t just lied to him either, but also to Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) and Trina. This whole experience has forced Portia to look at the truth in a new light, and she may never feel guilt-free about it again.
However, Portia could be keeping another secret — that she changed the results in the hospital system to reflect no chance of Schizophrenia for Curtis when he actually does have the markers. This betrayal is next level, and could upset Curtis even more than her lie about Trina. Still, Portia thinks the best course of action is to keep quiet about Trina’s paternity. At this point, she’s been raised, and she can’t undo the past. She would be stealing a future from Trina and Marcus they feel entitled to, and she would never be able to give Curtis back Trina’s childhood she stole from him. She sees no need to tell the truth now and disrupt everyone’s lives, but Jordan doesn’t see it that way.
General Hospital Spoilers — Will Jordan Discover the Truth — Again
Now that Curtis is allegedly in the clear for Schizophrenia, will Portia and Curtis’ impending marriage be in the clear from an attack from his past? Might Jordan go sniffing around and discover the lab results aren’t what they seemed? It wouldn’t be out of character for her.
Portia has accused Jordan of still being in love with Curtis and hoping for a second chance with him. While that could be true, it doesn’t change the circumstances of Portia’s relationship. She lied to Curtis long ago and Jordan had nothing to do with it. Should Jordan continue to mind her business now, or does she owe Curtis the truth even if Portia isn’t willing to deliver it?
