General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Thinks He Has It Under Control
Despite many warnings from his cousin, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), that Dex (Evan Hofer), the man with no last name as far as we know, is not to be trusted. There is just something about him that rubs Brando the wrong way. In this case, Brando may have better instincts than Sonny. Perhaps some of those mob instincts were lost during his time in Nixon Falls.
When Sonny announces to Brick (Stephen A. Smith) that he wants to give Dex the enforcer position in his organization that Jason (Steve Burton) had, Brick isn’t so sure and decides they need to get more background on Dex because something seems fishy about him.
Michael Feels Confident
Despite being Carly’s dumbass son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) thinks he has it all set up perfectly to take his father down for sleeping with someone else while married to his mother, something Sonny had done countless times before. When Dex informs him how much Sonny trusts him, he loves how his plan is coming together. Will we get an evil laugh with that?
Probably not, but we will get Michael thinking he knows how to read Sonny and giving Dex some pointers.
“Michael gives him some advice on how to talk to Sonny and I think he walks away from that conversation thinking that he’s going to change his approach with Sonny,” Evan Hofer said in the August 2, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “He’s been taking the initiative and hasn’t wanted to ask Sonny for help, but Michael makes him realize Sonny wants people to ask him for help.”
Sonny likes to feel powerful and that he knows everything, so anyone looking at him like a leader and a father figure strokes Sonny’s ego, and Michael knows that. However, lately, it feels like that’s the only thing Michael knows.
Even when Dex does change his approach, Sonny gets advice he doesn’t want to hear. However, with Brick and Brando speaking up, it might be harder for Carly’s dumbass son to do what he wants to his father. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how this story plays out.
Sonny trusting Dex is a sign that he is off his game. He never in the past would have taken someone in to confidence so quickly. Glad Brick is advising Sonny that Dex needs a deep background check. If Sonny were Sonny he would have called for Brick’s assistance before hiring Dex under any circumstances. The longer the Smike storyline continues the more the character is destroyed. If Sonny has to have more Mike persona, allow him to change, but not be another worthless character.
