General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Ends Things With Nina…For Now

General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny doing what he frequently has to do as the mob kingpin of Port Charles.

General Hospital Spoilers: A Mafia Sacrifice

We all knew it was coming, and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) knew it was coming too. At some point, someone would be after him again and shootouts would happen because that is just how Sonny’s life goes. He has to then up his protection and think about the people he loves. This time, he just wants them to stay away from him, especially the people who are not used to this — like his small children, and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

Nina is stunned when Sonny tells her they are going to have to cool it with their romance for a while. It’s not that he doesn’t love her and he definitely wants to be with her. He just wants to keep her safe so he thinks they have to stop having their overnights at one another’s apartments and cannot be seen in public.

Is Nina Having Second Thoughts?

Learning what happened to Sonny and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) in that warehouse has forced Nina to really think about what Sonny does for a living. He is a mobster and that job comes with a lot of danger she might not be ready for. She knew what he was but tried to ignore it and pretend nothing bad could happen, but now she has to face things.

“Nina always knew what Sonny did for a living, but she sort of stuck her head in the sand a little but when they got back from Nixon Falls because she loves him so much,” Cynthia Watros said in the March 27, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “Now, she has noticed that his mood has shifted a bit with everything going on with his business and what he has to do in that part of his life.”

When Sonny tells her they cannot see one another for now, Nina has to agree whether she likes it or not. However, she does have other things on her mind, like dying Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen).

“When it comes to Willow, Nina is on high alert,” Watros said. “She is terrified that something is going to happen before they can do that transplant.”
