Sonny And Laura Enlist Lucas To Help Take Sidwell Down, Is He In?
The General Hospital preview for the week of June 1-5 features a scene where Sonny and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) are trying to enlist Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) in their effort to take Sidwell down.
Currently, Sidwell is blackmailing the mob boss and the mayor of Port Charles, armed with some damaging photos that depict the late PCU Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard) in the trunk of Laura’s vehicle.
Before leaving town, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) provided Sonny with a valuable piece of information about Pascal Leveque (Marc Forget).
She revealed that Sidwell’s ‘butler’ was responsible for cleaning up after Dalton’s murder.
Laura and Sonny concluded that if they could persuade Pascal to betray Sidwell, they would finally be able to dismantle the villains’ plans and gain the advantage.
Lucas Is Fully Committed To Helping Take Sidwell Down, But It Is Not Going To Be Easy!
Lucas is fully committed to assisting the duo, but with Pascal’s disdain for the good doctor, he faces a significant challenge.
Nevertheless, the primary objective is not just to thwart Sidwell’s scheme but to completely eradicate him as a danger.
This has been reiterated several times over the months, with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) mentioning it before his departure, and more recently, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) bringing it up.
With Pascal’s assistance, Sonny could either penetrate Wyndemere or enlist Brick (Stephen A. Smith) to do so, ultimately eliminating Sidwell so he can put his worries about him to rest.
Sidwell Is A Despicable Enemy
Sidwell is truly a despicable adversary, and a downright loathsome person, as anyone who’s gotten on his bad side can attest, although his manner and appearance belie it.
Although he is captivating to watch and possesses a certain charm, his utter lack of remorse when it comes to taking lives and destroying others’ futures is deeply unsettling.
Consequently, he stands as Port Charles’ number one public enemy, and while Laura and Sonny’s strategy might help them escape Sidwell’s control, there’s no chance they can completely take him out.
Whether Sonny plans to shoot him or orchestrate a car explosion (perhaps with the assistance of Brick and Pascal), Sidwell might sustain injuries, but he will not meet his end.
Sidwell is a villain on the level of Helena Cassadine, (Constance Towers), and longtime GH fans remember how many times she was resurrected!
