General Hospital spoilers spill Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) was thrilled to share her happy news with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Becoming Co-Chief of Staff at General Hospital is a major career move for Portia, and Curtis was genuinely happy for her.
But once again, his auntie, Stella Henry (Vernee Watson), had to step in and warn Portia that she might not be doing right by her husband.
As Portia skirted the issue and went back to work, Stella’s words left a mark on her, as they usually do for everyone. Was she right? In time, Portia may come to believe she is, but was her move in accepting that promotion really the problem?

Stella has a way with making sure people heed her warnings and take her advice at face value. In this case, that means Portia may start to worry that the long nights she’s spending at the hospital are leaving Curtis alone too much.
Of course, he’s going to resent those concerns, because he feels like everyone is treating him like he’s glass — and unnecessarily so.
In addition, Portia may start worrying that she is overshadowing Curtis and making him feel like less of a man and provider by trying to become the sole provider for their family.
GH Spoilers Hint Selina’s Offer Still Stands
Meanwhile, Selina Wu (Lydia Look) will continue to pressure Curtis into giving up his club — the one thing that he feels like he still does well.
He might not be exactly the same host he once was, but Curtis may come to find the club to be a kind of escape that he needs from the constant hovering and micromanagement of his feelings and disability back home.
Selina may hope to appeal to some part of Curtis that wants to cut his losses, but the truth is, the club is his respite.
When Portia continues to make him feel like it’s an unnecessary hobby he doesn’t need to maintain in light of her promotion, it’s not going to bode well for their marriage.

Stella isn’t completely off the mark. Nothing has been bothering Curtis more than feeling like he’s losing his manhood. He can’t make love to his wife. He can’t provide for her the way he was before.
He can’t spin her around a dance floor. The last thing he’s going to do is let his business go under and become a kept man. This means holding onto his club no matter how hard Selina makes it for him.
Will his grip on The Savoy lead to more stress that only makes him resent his wife for making him feel he has to compete with her?
