General Hospital Spoilers: Examining Ric’s New Attitude – A Real Change Or A Trick?

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal there’s a new and improved Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) on the ABC soap. But the question is, has Ric really changed, or is his supposed turnaround merely a trick?
Tricky Ricky-Angel On One Shoulder, Devil On The Other?
Ric is a man of many complexities; at times, he embodies pure evil, yet there exists a redeeming quality within him. Has the angel perched on his shoulder at last triumphed over the devil that lurks on the other? Ric has committed heinous acts against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and various individuals in Port Charles; nonetheless, there lies a good side to Ric.
He endured captivity for weeks at the hands of Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), and Ava Jerome (Maura West). Following his release, Ric appears transformed-it seems a better version of Ric has emerged from the depths of the basement.
The Good And Bad Versions Of Ric
Ric has always envied his half-brother Sonny (Maurice Benard), whom he met only as an adult; this created a big divide between them and led to many of Ric’s wrongdoings.
The lawyer has committed awful acts, but locking a pregnant Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in a panic room to steal her baby was likely the worst.
He has lied, cheated, blackmailed, harmed, framed, and stolen from many in Port Charles. However, Ric has a good side-he genuinely loved Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and still does.
Although he shows it poorly, he stands up for those he cares about and is a great lawyer-Molly Lansing-Davis’s (Kristen Vaganos) dad loves her.
Ric Changes From Good To Bad Too Quickly
He may have been gone too long, but now that he’s back, he would do anything for his daughter-Ric has a problem: he does good, then quickly does something bad.
Alexis, Kristina, and Ava kidnapped him and kept him prisoner for weeks-they tied him to a cot in a basement with a ball gag.
When he was finally freed, he seemed changed-maybe he reflected on his choices.
Now, the attorney wants to make things right with his brother. He asked to represent Sonny in legal issues, so the mob boss asked him to help his grandson, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
Rocco’s Currently In Juvenile Detention
Currently, the unfortunate young boy finds himself in a juvenile detention center, yet Ric appears to be doing everything within his power to assist him in getting out.
He is even collaborating with his former partner, Alexis, and is making an effort to reconcile with her too-it seems that Ric has genuinely decided to change his ways.
It would be wonderful if the brothers could unite and work together rather than oppose one another. If he continues on this path, he might even have a chance to win back Elizabeth’s heart.
However, knowing Ric, he could very well have something else up his sleeve-but what could it possibly be?
