Since Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) fled town with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) in late 2024, there has been little chatter about Holly, and that’s usually the lane by which Ethan gets brought into conversation.
Of course, the tribute to Luke Spencer (the late Anthony Geary) just aired recently. Ethan wasn’t a part of that, so it’s unlikely that his return has anything to do with his dad. But it could have something to do with the other love of Holly’s life.
Robert’s Death is Nearing
We all know the cast of GH has to bid farewell to Robert at some point. Tristan Rogers passed away on August 15, 2025, only one month after his final scenes aired on the hit soap.
There’s no use in trying to recast a character like Robert. Rogers gave us the best years of his life, and Port Chuck fans will forever be grateful for the Aussie’s charisma and flair he brought into the role.
But how will Holly resurface living her life without him? They had waited so long to be together, only to have such little time as a couple in the end.
Holly Sends Her Regrets
While many fans are hoping Holly will come back into the picture long enough to say goodbye to Robert, there is concern that Samms may not be up for the undertaking. She lives in the Cotswolds region of England.
Traveling back to the states to film might not be in the cards as Samms has reportedly been struggling with side effects from Long Covid for the last few years.
Will she have to bypass the memorial altogether, and if so, might she send Ethan in her absence to wish everyone well and accompany his sister, Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson)?

Speaking of sisters, let’s not forget about the relationship between Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Ethan.
The pair shared a kiss years ago before they understood that they were half-siblings. Lulu recently said goodbye to Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), but she hasn’t been able to sit down with her other brother and talk to him about the later years of her father’s life.
