It wasn’t the chill of the water or the fact she was eight months pregnant that caused her amnesia, although it contributed to it. She was one desperate girl to set fire to her room and jump from the parapet of Wyndemere Castle after being hostage for months, and the latest experience added more trauma.

GH Spoilers: She Flew Into Laura Collins’ Arms

When Ava Jerome (Maura West) had a gun on Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) out in the woods by that rock where her water broke, she fled to Wyndemere. She saw Heather Webber (Alley Mills) in handcuffs, who called out her name, but it was Laura’s arms she flew into. She was immediately taken by Laura and Kevin and laid down on the couch, since everyone could see she was in labor; it was a tense situation.

Kevin confirmed the baby was coming NOW, and they hoped there were no complications-Kevin as a doctor was trained to deliver babies but he’s a psychiatrist not an obstetrician! Once the baby was out and they could get Esmé to General Hospital, she sets boundaries on visitors-she doesn’t want anyone but Laura and Kevin.

General Hospital Spoilers: Esmé Prince Worried About Her Baby

Esmé was traumatized by the dry labor birth with no anesthesia, and worried about her baby and what happened to him or her after she got to GH. In the meantime, Laura and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) who was also in the hospital comforted Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) who wanted to adopt his sibling. She wouldn’t want anyone but Laura and Kevin to have access to her baby either, but she’s in a delicate physical and mental condition in the aftermath.

Kevin is cautious about who visits Esmé and who cares for her in the hospital as well, and has convinced the police to treat her as a victim, not a perpetrator. As long as she has the amnesia, she is not competent to stand trial for the crimes she committed before, and he ensures she is shielded from any further trauma.
