General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Dominic Zamprogna addressed Dante Falconeri’s recent coma concerns. In a Soap Opera Digest article he spoke about his fifteen year anniversary on GH and brought up the coma.
General Hospital Spoilers: No One Was Sure Dante Would Make It Including Dominic!
Detective Dante Falconeri was shot by a Pikeman henchman, leading to Jason (Steve Burton) being discovered alive and well. This caused actor Dominic Zamprogna’s character to fall into a coma, a serious situation in soap opera standards.
Fortunately, Dante managed to recover and is now back to normal, just in time for Dominic Zamprogna’s 15th anniversary on the ABC daytime drama series on June 22nd.
Dominic also took a moment to look back on the reaction from worried fans earlier this year when it seemed like he might be leaving the show again and expressed his gratitude.
When he was informed by Frank Valentini, Executive Producer of GH that his character would be going into a coma, he couldn’t help but worry about himself too!
GH Spoilers: Dante’s Seen His Fair Share Of Comas
Throughout his fifteen years working on GH, Zamprogna has encountered numerous comas; his on-screen wife, Lulu Spencer Falconeri (Emme Rylan), was written off the show without ever waking up from hers.
Dominic acknowledges there are various outcomes for comas, and while some may think it’s easy work, he prefers to be in an on-screen coma to remain part of the show.
Being valued by the audience means a lot to him because everyone cares about what others think of them, and he understands the importance of stars’ relationship with their fans. It’s undeniably a great feeling to know that people are happy to have him around, and he would be dishonest if he claimed otherwise.
General Hospital Spoilers: Dominic’s First Appearances As Dante Falconeri
Dante made his first appearance in Port Charles on June 22, 2009, arriving from New York City using the name Dominic Pirelli; however, he did not hide his presence from his mother, Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero).
Although she was unaware of his true purpose as an undercover police officer, Olivia was taken aback when she entered her apartment and discovered Dante waiting for her and became furious.
She demanded an explanation for his presence in Port Charles. Sensing his mother’s distress, Dante inquired about the source of her troubles; despite Olivia’s reluctance to discuss the matter, Dante persisted in his pursuit of answers.
Eventually, Olivia chose to divert the conversation towards her Aunt Carmen, who had experienced heartbreak due to an affair with a married man.
It wasn’t long after that Olivia’s worst fears came true-she was involved with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and neither knew the truth until Sonny shot Dante in front of his mother!
