General Hospital Spoilers: Does a Career in Politics Await Drew Cain? The Fans Sure Hope So!

General Hospital Spoilers report Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was stunned when Congressman Larry McConkey (Sam McMurray) put him on the spot asking why he should get into bed with an ex-convict.

Drew maneuvered his way out of that sticky situation well, and it proved to the Congressman what he had already suspected — that Drew was made for politics. Oddly enough, it’s not a field Drew has ever thought twice about entering into.

But McConkey’s encouragement and the way he made it sound so simple to get Drew into office may go a long way in convincing the Aurora Media magnate to make some moves in a brand new direction — and the fans are here for it!

General Hospital Spoilers — Drew’s Position Has Grown Stale

There’s Something to be said about Quartermaine men and the mantles they take up. A guy like Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) was groomed to take over ELQ since his youth. The viewers have accepted this as a core tenet of Ned’s identity over the years.

He rarely waivers, much like his father — Edward Quartermaine (John Engle) — never did. Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) has worn a few hats, but everyone is just happy that he didn’t follow in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) footsteps.

However, Drew’s time at Aurora and ELQ has been less than eventful, apart from that failed merger that led to a stint in prison.

Drew loves to make good moves, and he appreciates having power. Is a career in politics the right move for him though?
GH Spoilers Squeal Drew Really is a Man of the People

While Drew may have had his doubts about the ease with which he could be ushered into office, Congressman McConkey was confident in his ability to slip him into the ranks with the right endorsements behind him.

But will the voters toe the line? Survey says…yes! There may not be a soul more well-liked in Port Charles than Drew. He has few enemies and always leaves people knowing they can both trust him and rely on him. If that isn’t a winning ticket, what is?

General Hospital Spoilers — Nina May Not Hear of It

Drew may be a shoo-in to take McConkey’s seat in the wake of his death, but is the Congressman’s endorsement enough to combat the one person who may not want Drew rising to such levels of fame?

Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) introduced the Congressman to Drew and may not like the idea of them getting this chummy. Brokering a business deal to build an esplanade in the city was one thing, but being groomed to take over such a powerful position could leave Nina green with jealousy, as usual.

Will she stand in Drew’s way to paving a successful career in politics for himself? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
