General Hospital spoilers spill Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) wasn’t exactly over the moon when his wife, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), let him know she submitted his personal medical information for an experimental medical trial that could help him to walk again.
While Curtis certainly isn’t hoping to live out his days in a wheelchair, he’s also not keen on getting his hopes up for a cure to his plight when he has only just made peace with their not being one. Now, Curtis is about to share this news with his father, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) — and the response might not be exactly what he would have expected.

Curtis can’t help himself. Portia tried to downplay her excitement about the trial, but it was obvious from the fact that she submitted his information without even asking him that she didn’t want to give him a potential way out of it. If he had refused to try to participate, she may have gone ahead and submitted his case details anyway, knowing her.
Curtis would rather not ponder those possibilities, but he may find it challenging not to question Portia’s intentions — even though the end goal is obviously a kind one. Still, as optimistic as she is, Curtis won’t be able to bring himself to entertain this trial as a real option.
GH Spoilers Hint Marshall Always Looks on the Upside
Curtis may kick himself for letting his father in on the scoop after he realizes that Marshall is on Team Portia. Rather, Marshall is most often the type of guy who likes to look on the bright side — a stark contrast from the person who walked away from his sons and wife so many years ago.
When Curtis tries to diminish the chance of success — or the chance of even being selected for the trial — Marshall isn’t going to have it. Is this just the pep talk that Curtis needs, or will he feel pushed to get his hopes up for something that may never come to fruition and only leave him feeling disappointed?
