General Hospital Spoilers: Chad Duell Is Out — But Is He Going the Way of Sam?
General Hospital Spoilers reveal Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) may be no more. You read that right. Chad took to his Instagram account over the weekend to let his longtime fans and supporters know he had made a major, life-changing decision.
He’s leaving General Hospital. I know, I know — say it ain’t so! But it is! While fans combed the message boards and fan groups insisting it was nonsense, those who offered up proof of the Insta post put some very sad people in their place.
Yes, Chad is leaving GH, and no, we don’t know why. After fourteen years playing the role of Michael Corinthos, this choice may be nothing more than an actor seeking a new creative direction for himself, but the fans have offered up some other appealing theories. So, how is Michael going out?
General Hospital Spoilers — No Recast in Sight
Frank Valentini has already taken to his X account to confirm that there are currently no plans to recast the role of Michael Corinthos.
Many fans have expressed interest in Robert Adamson — who has regularly stepped in for Chad over the years — being placed in the role as Chad exists. But their wishes, while not unnoticed, aren’t going to be fulfilled at this time.
This has brought some speculation that funding on the GH set may not be as secure these days, given that Michael is in the middle of a trending hot storyline right now.
GH Spoilers Hint the Kids May Pay the Price
Of course, that storyline could be the way we see Michael exit stage left. Currently, he’s setting a trap for Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) in hopes of ousting him from Aurora Media.
After that, we imagine he may go for the jugular with his own wife, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen). After all, they’ve both betrayed him deeply.
Could Michael take off with the kids and leave Willow in the dust, scrambling to find her children without the resources to do it? Ultimately, we hope Michael’s exit won’t paint him as the bad guy, but we also don’t want him to be such a victim.
General Hospital Spoilers — This Could Be a Tearjerker
That brings us to another possible scenario — that Michael dies. This would explain why there are no intentions to recast him. It would also give Willow and Drew the clean break they need to be together — and perhaps to get the fans to be more accepting of that reality.
Okay, maybe not. But they just did this to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Would we rather Michael run off with Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) and their baby and abandon the family he already has?
