General Hospital Spoilers: Anna Opens Up To Valentin About Her Struggles

General Hospital spoilers and rumors tease that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will open up to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) about her struggles and regrets concerning Peter August (Wes Ramsey) in future episodes of General Hospital!

General Hospital Spoilers – Anna Devane And Valentin Cassadine Share Similar Regrets

General Hospital viewers will recall that Anna and Valentin share similar regrets over Peter, and they discussed them partially in a past episode of General Hospital, when Peter had tied them up in Anna’s basement! This was the same night that Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) was poisoned with a toxin that was meant for Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) to ingest, and which took months to identify and to find a cure for.

When word reached Anna and Valentin that Peter was responsible and had the only antidote, they were forced to let him go – but that’s not what Anna and Valentin regretted afterwards. The regrets they discussed when they had Peter tied up were their individual failures not to recognize Peter for the lost cause that he is, and they regretted ever giving him the benefit of the doubt.

GH Spoilers – Anna Devane Wishes She Hadn’t Wanted Peter August Brought In Alive

General Hospital viewers will recall that when Anna and Valentin went to Cassadine Island, Valentin wanted to kill Peter, while Anna wanted him to face justice and be brought in alive! General Hospital viewers know that Anna was confused whether her memories of giving birth to Peter were hers or her twin sister’s because of the memory transfer experiments performed on her and Alex Devane Marick (Finola Hughes).

Those feelings don’t just go away on their own, and she hasn’t been totally able to sever the familial bond between herself and Peter as his aunt, although she wishes she could. Anna has realized that and now she is facing an internal emotional struggle with herself, wishing that she or Valentin had killed Peter instead of trying to bring him in alive.

General Hospital Spoilers – If Peter August Had Been Killed Earlier Jason Morgan Might Still Be Alive

General Hospital viewers will recall that Valentin and Anna had a chance to kill Peter in Crete, but Valentin was shot; Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Valentin were trying to rescue Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) when Peter shot both of them. Anna tells Valentin that perhaps her remaining familial bond was still clouding her judgment even though her sense of law and order was allowed to prevail in the end- but if Peter had died Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) might be alive.

General Hospital viewers will recall that Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) was with Anna on that mission, and Valentin reminds her that if she had tried to shoot Peter first that Robert probably would have stopped her! But Anna is still struggling internally with now wanting Peter to be dead instead of to recover and face justice, and she simply doesn’t know how to deal with her conflicting senses of justice versus revenge!

GH Spoilers  – Anna Devane Has Never Been Vengeful – But Is It Really Vengeance She Feels?

Longtime General Hospital viewers have never seen Anna having been vengeful, although Alex developed enough vengeance in her later years for the two of them; Anna isn’t even sure that her regretting Peter’s survival equates feelings of vengeance. As she puzzles over this with Valentin, and her guilt over wishing Peter had not survived, Valentin tells her that he doesn’t think this is coming from a desire for revenge.

Valentin also reminds her that Peter is in General Hospital in a coma after someone else apparently wanted revenge, and although two wrongs don’t make a right, he could very well die. Valentin tells Anna that her wishing she’d killed Peter before he was shot and Jason was killed is simply the result of guilt over not being able to change the outcome of what happened.
