General Hospital Spoilers: Alexis Out Of Control, Will The Intervention Be What She Needs?
ABC General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that in Port Charles, NY Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) drinking has gotten out of hand. As viewers know, not all that long ago Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) gave her mom an ultimatum, either Alexis quit drinking or she wouldn’t let Alexis see her grandkids. At the time, it seemed as if Alexis was choosing to drink over her family, but have Sam’s words finally sunk in? Or perhaps Alexis needs another push in the form of intervention.
GH Spoilers: Alexis Davis Downward Spiral
Losing Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan), her license to practice law, and a troubling medical diagnosis would be tough for anyone to deal with, but for them to all happen at roughly the same time, was just too much for Alexis to handle so she turned to the bottle. This has led Alexis to things that she never would do sober.
Her one-night stand with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), who is married is perhaps the biggest mistake of all. There is no way Alexis would do something like that if she were sober. Alexis has recently come to the realization that Neil would never have shot up with drugs while Alexis was in the next room, so perhaps she no longer blames herself for it.
General Hospital Spoilers: The Intervention!
There are plenty of people in Port Charles who love Alexis dearly. Sam and her sisters Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) and Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pulos) would love to see their mother regain her sobriety.
Alexis’ best friend Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), surely also has something to say. And while Alexis mocked the idea of intervention not all that long ago, perhaps she truly needs to hear how much she means to them.
GH Spoilers: But That’s Only The First Step
But even if an intervention is successful, Alexis still has a long way to go. Accepting Neil’s death isn’t her fault is a step in the right direction, but Alexis will need to make an effort to put the bottle down and return to her AA meetings, which have worked for her in the past.
She also will need to face her diagnosis of osteoporosis, and take the necessary steps to maintain her bone health. Finally, she will need to find a goal for herself, perhaps finding a way to get her license to practice law back. There is a way back from all the darkness, but first Alexis will need to find the strength to take the first steps!
Is an intervention was Alexis needs? Can she reclaim her life? Will she stop drinking and reunite with her family?
