General Hospital spoilers, news, and updates tease that Sofia Mattson announced her pregnancy. The actress, who plays the role of Sasha Gilmore, took to Instagram to share the exciting news.
Several fans have wondered if Mattson was pregnant after her GH alter ego started wearing loose clothing. The actress didn’t confirm the rumors until recently.
In her Instagram account, the actress posted a photo of her showcasing her baby bump.
“Many of you guessed it already… Baby girl due in May!” she captioned.
Fans may recall that Mattson and husband, Thomas Payton welcomed their first child back in July 2021. But they announced it one month after the birth of their baby boy. Recently, the actress confirmed her pregnancy one month before her due date.
The Swedish actress gained a lot of fans after joining the sudser back in September 2018. Writers of the soap wrote in her first pregnancy into the soap. But her alter ego didn’t give birth until she returned from her maternity leave. So during the soap, she had to wear a fake baby bump until it was time for her to give birth. However, in her current pregnancy, the show is concealing it since Sasha’s character is currently single. So, although Mattsson is expecting, her character Sasha is not.
What Will Happen To Sasha When Mattson Goes On Matternity Leave
Fans should remember that Mattson will soon go on a maternity leave so what will happen to her character in the soap? Spoilers hint that Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) wants to leave town so she may urge Sasha to go with her on a trip.
The latter has no clue that Gladys has gambling debts and she used her assets to pay them off. Not only that, she framed Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) for the expensive bracelet theft.
It is evident that Gladys is taking drastic measures to prevent Sasha from discovering her dubious actions. Therefore, separating Sasha from Cody might be the best course of action. Gladys and Sasha’s journey could serve as an explanation for Mattsson’s required absence from the show. However, several other alternatives are available to justify her time away from the program. If Glady’s secret is exposed, the aftermath could lead to Sasha’s absence from the show.
