General Hospital (GH) spoilers show that Risa Dorken portrays nurse Amy Driscoll on the daytime drama. Last year she shared her story with fans, talking about her mental health journey and bipolar diagnosis.
In March 2021 she posted to Instagram, “I am so proud of my recovery and grateful for medication and the help of my Psychiatrist.”

She went on to say at the time, “This year has taught me so much – I don’t take my body, brain, or health for granted. Take care of your mental health and check in on your loved ones – mentally ill people can’t always ask for the help we need. A couple of phone calls saved my life last year – Reach out, Get help. If you fight every day, I’m proud of you. #BipolarStrong.”

She recently talked to Soap Hub, expanding on her initial post by sharing more about her life in the present day saying, “I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 2020, so wellness and self-care has become the absolute priority to leading a happy, healthy, stable life.”
She let the outlet in on her exercise routine saying, “I walk two miles every day. I like to get out in the neighborhood, in the sunshine – but I’ll settle for the treadmill if the weather isn’t cooperating or if I’m in a time crunch.”

She went on to add that sleep is a crucial ingredient in her selfcare routine: “Keeping a consistent sleep schedule has been crucial in balancing my moods and energy levels. Also medication! There’s no shame in needing help.”
When asked if she can share any healthy tips with fans, she said, “Water! Drink water. I guzzle lemon water all day. It’s helped my complexion a lot, and helps me feel great!”
General Hospital spoilers: Port Charles, New York Is The Soap’s Fictional Setting
Dorken debuted on the soap in May of 2016. Fans were delighted to see the resemblance to another favorite nurse Amy Vining, played by the late Shell Kepler. Both Amy’s are loveable snoops, and yet their curiosity often results in helpfulness and problem-solving.
As part of Amy’s back story she went to Port Charles High School with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Amy was first shown gossiping to Maxie at GH. Since then Amy has been seen off and on, and hopefully 2022 will bring more scenes of the exuberant nurse interacting with GH’s regulars.
