General Hospital Spoilers – Michael E. Knight And Maurice Benard Are Old Friends
Actors Michael E. Knight and Maurice Benard met back in the late 1980s when Knight played the famous Tad the Cad Martin in All My Children and Benard played Nico Kelly on the New York-based ABC soap. They have been friends ever since and love the rare scenes they share together on General Hospital as Sonny Corinthos as Martin Grey, who many fans like to call Tad Martin Grey.
On Sunday, June 12, 2022, Knight appeared on Benard’s YouTube mental health program, Maurice Benard: State of Mind, in which Knight told Benard about the obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety that could have ruined his life.
General Hospital Updates – Michael E. Knight Thanks Ex-Wife For Help
Knight was still on All My Children and married to soap vet Catherine Hickland who played Lindsay Rappaport on One Life to Live when he had a moment that prompted his wife to tell him to get the help he needed.
“I didn’t have the energy to stand up in the shower before going to work,” Knight told Benard. “I used to have a panic attack for days and days.”
One day, Hickland found him in the bath and cried when she saw him. While he claimed he didn’t need anything and could help himself, she told him, “‘You do not have this. Go see somebody.'”
Knight also said he thinks almost everyone will have something they will need help for, especially in this day and age when the world around us seems so bleak, but he knows that seeking help is the answer. People can get through what they have to with the right support.
“We’re living through Biblical s*** nonstop,” he said. And even if we weren’t, “life is a long road — for everybody — and I think at some point, most people are going to hit a psychological hiccup.”
Both Knight and Benard also admitted as longtime friends, they are there for one another and will talk to each other when needed as a support system. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see if these two actors share more scenes together.
