Spencer can’t believe how things have turned out. Just days ago, he was livid with his father and thought so little of him for skipping town. Now, he’s livid with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), and with himself for letting her play him. He was intent to take his baby brother, Ace Cassadine, home with him to make sure he received the best care possible. Now, Esme doesn’t trust any Cassadine, and she’s barely hanging onto any trust in Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Spencer feels like his future is aimless now, having put all of his eggs in this baby basket. Will Trina be able to bring him back down to reality and remind him he still has a life to live at a very young age?

While Spencer is brooding and hoping his grandmother, Laura Collins (Genie Francis), or uncle, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), can work their magic to fix this mess, Trina knows no such magical fairy godparent is coming to her rescue. Try as he may, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) is not going to be able to make this pain go away Trina’s mother has left her with. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) betrayed her in the worst way possible and left Trina’s world turned upside down. Will Spencer be able to help her mend fences with her mom? Probably not, but he is going to provide a rather favorable distraction for a while.

Trina and Spencer have been dancing around their feelings for one another for nearly two years. So it makes sense that they’re finally coming to fruition and the levy is due to break any time. Trina wants a soft place to land that she knows won’t leave her feeling like she trusted the wrong person. She finally feels that kind of safeness and security in Spencer’s arms. Likewise, Spencer knows Trina is the only person who hasn’t let him down in his life apart from his grandmother, and he’s intent on keeping Trina around for the long haul.
