General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) the gangster will soon be back and he’ll get the girl in the end, in upcoming episodes of General Hospital!
General Hospital Spoilers – Maurice Benard Speaks Out On “Sona”
General Hospital viewers have been mixed on their opinions on whether “Carson” or “Sona” should be the couple to ship in future episodes of General Hospital. Sonny Corinthos portrayer Maurice Benard has been very active on Twitter lately, interacting with his fans and trying to explain storylines and how they work. Fans have been upset at the Nixon Falls “Smike” and feeling the writers were not being true to the rough and tough gangster Sonny they have all wanted. For one thing, they need to understand that playing the bipolar Sonny is sometimes difficult for the bipolar in real life Maurice – and sometimes he needs a break. He has enjoyed playing a different variety of Sonny as “Mike” or “Smike” but assures fans badass Sonny is on the way, but he won’t be with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) for a while – he’ll be with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros)!
General Hospital Updates – General Hospital Has Had To Switch Things Up
Another thing that General Hospital viewers may want to take into account is that killing off Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and sending Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) out of Port Charles are two things that General Hospital scriptwriters could not have anticipated. Covid restrictions and Disney vaccine mandates have had to be worked around and when two actors are forced out there either have to be characters written out or killed off. This naturally has affected the storylines that Sonny and Carly Corinthos were involved in – if those actors were not gone Carly may have chosen to stay married to Jason after finding Sonny was involved with Nina in Nixon Falls. Certainly, the teen sex storyline would be different as well were Jax still in town – Jax would be making Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) regret she ever messed with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) although Carly’s been doing a good job of that herself. Were Sonny and Carly still together, Sonny would be sending Esme on a little trip to the Pine Barrens himself!
Sonny Corinthos Will Be With Nina Reeves But Will She Be Able To Handle His Lifestyle?
Maurice has said that Sonny will be with Nina, but that gangster Sonny is on the way back as well…one thing General Hospital viewers will wonder is if Nina will be able to handle Sonny’s gangster lifestyle! Based on Nina’s current behavior and how she handled the danger that occasionally came to the front door when she was married to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) perhaps yes, but perhaps no!
General Hospital viewers know that Nina has already been upset getting to know Sonny as Sonny because she fell in love with Sonny as Mike! In a recent episode of General Hospital, Nina was upset because Sonny told her she knew him, and she wailed she knew Mike! Perhaps we’ll see Nina handle one of Sonny’s enemies the way she handled Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) – stabbing them with a syringe and putting them into a coma for a few months!

I quit watching and I DEFINITELY won’t be back if they’re keeping nina around. Really Really disappointed to read that. I had been a faithful fan for over 30 years but between this sickening story and Steve’s firing I’m done
Why are so many people so unhappy on GH. Let’s get some love back in this soap opera. Hate that Sonny and Carly are not together. They are the best team together.

I agree don’t like Nina at all Never have Sonny has changed his morals conviction going along with Nina on everything he is just a puppet now GH needs ballsy Sonny I do understand why MB doesn’t like portraying Sonny says he is dark however to me Smike is so much darker, I have after 47 years could care less if I ever see Nina and Sonny together again geez Nina is everywhere behind the plants LOL no not sure what Cynthia had to do to get such a great gig with Mo not likely any of it
Like you I have also quit watching GH after having watched the show since the mid 70s. There have been ups and downs over the years but nothing as absurd, pathetic and disgusting like this Sonny-Nina spectacle!
We the viewers went along with the idiotic story of Nixon Falls. It was OK for the first couple of months but it went on and on and on!!! Finally Sonny regains his memory only to have become a pathetic wimpy Sonny. Nina is as delusional as she’s always been and is even more whiny and disgusting than ever before.
And on top of everything else the termination of Steve B and Ingo R is beyond comprehension.
Think about it …. They have terminated and the writers have destroyed the characters of Jason, Jax, Sonny, and Sam who has now also been turned into a gutless whimpering woman. Four of the main lead characters are GONE or have been destroyed!! Good job writers!!!!
If Jason were brought back I, and no doubt many other viewers, would return.
What appears to be the “re-imagining” of GH, like they are trying to do with everything else is the country, isn’t working people!!! It isn’t working anyplace else either!!!
I think Sonny and Carly belong together. Nina is all for herself don’t like her at all for Sonny. They must make it back together and if Jason was alive him and Carly never it would be out of line snd were and should always remain best friends

If the girl in the end is Nina she is not a prize. She’s a liar, and a queen manipulator, now she’s starting to work on Harmony. It almost seems Emma should be her daughter. Good luck Sonny with your ride or die.
If you think Nina is the Prize, then you are wrong. Sonny’s head is so mixed up that he chose Nina over Carly. I hope Carly never goes back with Sonny. He will only try for Carly again if Nina gives him up. He should get his brain fixed if he thinks that Nina is his true love. Nina will dump him because he seems like he will never give her up. I hope the Disney owners are reading these comments so that they will see how the writers messed up badly. They should have dragged out the divorce because no one wants to go through another Carly/Sonny wedding. Another broken promise from the writers.
Bring back Jason and Jax. Show is in trouble without them. And stop putting Sonny and Nina together enough is enough Sonny only belongs wiht Carly. Let get this show back. Jason belongs with Sam also
I am tired of Nina and her insipid look when she sees Sonny. He ain’t Mike. Never was and never will be. I don’t want to see Carly and Drew hook up either. This s/l is crazy and I realize I can’t watch Sonny and Nina as a couple. FF will be come my best friend in the future. Until Sonny gets been his head onon straight I guess my FF will become an art form if it involves Nina as Sonny’s side-piece.
Someone commented that Nina was “whinny” and that’s what it is about her character that’s so nauseating to me while watching her. It makes my stomach turn, and no one should be made to feel that way watching a TV soap series especially when so many viewers have complained as well. I have to mute the volume but then she pout’s her mouth turns down, her jaw drops and it’s like a spoiled brat trying to get her way, and then as old as she this becomes disgusting to watch. Writer’s don’t you see this when you play back the scene? This Nina’s character is like “child’s play”. The other Nina changed from baiting people when she fell in love with Valentin and Charlotte.. Since she was so in love with her why doesn’t she still visit her to help get over not seeing Wiley? Writer’s you forget we remember history!
I hope Willow is pregnant and Nina can have 2 grandchildren to watch grow. Willow loves Wiley but She stil has a broken heart over the baby boy she gave up for adoption…but found out her son died infant syndrome. I believe Nina us Willow birth mother and Harmony did something shady to get Willow from her birth mother
