General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Sonny May Have Proposed Marriage, But Was It Really Out Of Love?

General Hospital spoilers hint Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may have asked Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to be his bride, but something just feels disingenuous about it, doesn’t it? Sonny might care deeply about Nina, but the real problem here is clear to longtime GH fans — this guy does not know how to be alone. Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) knows that all too well, and she signaled to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) that she was happy for Sonny and it was likely for the best that he was getting married. That was odd for Michael to hear, but Carly knows what Sonny can be like if someone else isn’t keeping him distracted — from her. Is that what all of this is really about — waiting for Carly?

General Hospital Spoilers — Never Alone For Long

Nothing showcases Sonny’s desperation more than pointing back to his track record with women. The number of notches on his bedpost is hardly the problem; it’s their spacing that counts. Usually, this guy isn’t ready to move on from whoever he’s with until he’s already lined up someone else to spend his time with. Solitude is not Sonny’s thing, despite his broody demeanor. Sonny waited all of one minute to jump into bed with Nina that fateful night on The Haunted Star when he didn’t think Carly was going to show up. That’s him, in a nutshell.

General Hosptial Updates – Nina Reebes Did A Number On Him

Nina’s manipulation tactics have been a staple in Port Charles for quite some time, and unfortunately, her latest display was no different. The crocodile tears and dramatic sobs were all part of her plan to plant herself firmly on Sonny’s side. But, just when we thought we knew what was coming, Sonny threw us all for a loop with a spontaneous proposal that took Nina and the fans by surprise. Of course, Nina is holding this massive secret — that she is the person who turned Carly into the SEC, along with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). When Sonny starts to connect those dots, he’s not going to want to believe it. Not only did Nina betray him, but they won’t be able to repair the damage. Does he really want to though, as long as he comes out of it with Carly in tow?

Carly Spencer Is Coming Back Around

It looks like that’s the storyline that is starting to take shape now. First, we saw Carly get into trouble — and conveniently, Drew was in Greenland saving the world. So she had to settle for Sonny as he swooped in and saved her from herself, and also did the right thing by buying Drew some time. Carly reluctantly thanked him while telling him how unnecessary it was for him to intervene. Just a few weeks later, we’re watching them having private conversations, sans Drew and Nina, and they’re making pancakes together for Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears).

Sonny is pushing Carly to turn on him just to clear her own name with the SEC, but she has his back as usual and refuses. Will he let her take this fall or is he going to be the white knight — again? It doesn’t sound like Sonny ever intended to marry Nina so much as he wanted to keep the home fires warm until he found a way to right his wrongs with Carly. As Drew gets sat to the side while she and Sonny talked strategy, and the truth likely to come out about Nina soon, it’s quite possible that the groundwork is being laid for a CarSon reunion. Eeeek! Are you stoked, or ruing the day? Let us know, and stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just around the corner.
