General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that this is no April Fool’s joke: Social media declared that Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) will be on Good Morning America on Friday, April 1.
Oops—not true! In reality, the soap star will be on the show on Wednesday, March 30.

Benard himself cleared up the confusion by tweeting: “I made a mistake on the date. My GOOD MORNING AMERICA is tomorrow between 7:00-7:15 a.m. Pacific Time. I said it was Friday, I don’t know… Doesn’t matter. It’s tomorrow. I’m gonna be talking about mental health, Bipolar Day, GH, State of Mind… just talking about stuff. Life. Sorry for the mix-up, but tomorrow morning, GOOD MORNING AMERICA.”
GH spoilers: Maurice Benard Has a Message to Share
In a very apropos move, Benard then began singing the classic show tune from the musical Annie, Tomorrow! He then told GH fans to: “Be there or be square!”
April is the 59th anniversary of GH’s debut and it makes sense that Benard will share some fun stories about his years on the long-running show. He debuted in 1993 and has won three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor.

Benard is also a mental health awareness advocate. His podcast State of Mind explores various topics and he has shared insights about his own diagnosis and treatments for bipolar disorder.
The podcast begins in July 2020 on YouTube and often features GH stars. Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas Cassadine) was a recent guest. The former GH star talked frankly about his struggles with addiction and a close brush with death.

IMO Christopher is the best Nicholas Cassidine. While the current Nicholas has kind of grown on me when I think of Nicholas I still always imagine Christopher in that role. The best Nicholas e ver!!
