Dex came to Port Charles ready to destroy Sonny and use his son’s vendetta against him to mask his own agenda, but now that he’s become familiar with the mob boss, he’s finding out that maybe he got it all wrong. We know Dex was adopted, but now rumors are swirling that he might actually be Jason’s long-lost son. The potential family connection would explain the magnetic pull Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) feels towards Dex, and the similarity to Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) past attraction to Jason is uncanny. However, this revelation would also mean that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Dex are related, too, which could have far-reaching consequences.

Michael may not know this, but Dex is no rat. He’s keeping his lips sealed tight — even under the percolating pressure of a Sonny’s takedown, Dex is holding out. In the beginning, it looked like all Dex had to hide was his military record, but now, Michael is going to be kicking himself for not catching on sooner. Dex was so committed to seeing this vendetta through because he was playing Michael the entire time. Dex wanted to hit Sonny where it hurts far more than Michael ever did. Now, Dex is keeping his cards close to his chest, and that’s a trait even Sonny can respect.
Sonny Corinthos Changed Everything
This is the last thing that Dex ever expected. Meeting Sonny changed his life. He came to Port Charles to avenge his father’s death. Perhaps it took Dex all these years to figure out who his father was or track him down, and then he found him all too late — after he had been presumed dead. Dex could’ve made it his mission to infiltrate not just Sonny’s organization — but his family, too — as a means of breaking his spirit and taking everything from him the way he felt Sonny had done to him.
Wouldn’t Jason still be alive if he never got wrapped up in Sonny’s world? Maybe, and he might’ve been in Dex’s life, too. He’ll never know, but what he does know now is that there are more layers to Sonny than he originally thought. He’s found a close relationship with the mob boss makes him feel closer to his father than he ever has before, and he’s not going to give that up without a fight.
