General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal it looks like Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is moving on and brushing off all negativity in her life! Although she’s been in a relationship with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), they’ve had to keep their love affair on the down low due to threats of being reported to the SEC for insider trading. Now that their worst nightmare has come to fruition, thanks to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Carly is going to end up stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Drew is out of town and it’s likely that he should stay that way to avoid the SEC for now. However, back home on New York soil, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is about to be taken into police custody for entirely different reasons. Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) big revenge scheme is finally playing out, and Sonny and his entire family will pay the price — as will Carly’s relationship with Drew.

The Corinthos family is used to having their parents carted off to jail for questioning. Despite their wealth and charm, this is a pretty routine practice for their family. There’s a reason Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) is on a constant retainer. Sonny has just bailed Carly out of a pretty desperate situation with the SEC by throwing them off her scent and onto what they think will be Drew’s.
Leading them on a wild goose chase is going to buy Carly time. Meanwhile, Sonny is about to get tangled up in his own mess when Michael’s plan to turn him into the feds goes out with a bang. With Sonny in lock-up and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) coming out as a traitor, who will act as the mobster’s right-hand? No one should be surprised when Carly takes up the torch in Sonny’s absence to make sure his business is secure and their family is safe.

Meanwhile, the SEC drama will continue to ensure. Carly is going to make sure Drew gets word that it’s not safe for him to come home yet. So, when Laura Collins (Genie Francis), Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) eventually bring those hostages home, Drew will need somewhere else to hang out.
In the interim, Diane might devise a pretty clever story that Carly only knew about the would-be merger of ELQ and Aurora because of her son, Michael — not because of Drew. This could buy them a little more time to figure out their next angle. Meanwhile, Carly will be in cahoots with Sonny and loving every minute of sticking it to Nina as she pretends to be madly in love with Sonny once again — you know, for the sake of fooling the Five Families.
