General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Zander Smith (Chad Brannon) may be more like father and son than Ghost Dad Zander cared for Cameron to be in an episode of General Hospital a couple of months ago. Both of them wanted to shoot Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in the back!
General Hospital Spoilers And Rumors – Zander Smith Once Tried To Shoot Jason Morgan In The Back
Longtime General Hospital viewers will remember that Zander also once tried to shoot Jason in the back, or at least he certainly was aiming for his back! Zander got into a struggle over a gun with Roy DiLucca (A. Martinez) and Jason, and accidentally hit Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) in the shoulder. In the episode where Cameron went to talk to his father’s grave, ghost Zander came expressly to warn Cameron not to go down the violent path that he did. Zander, not much older than Cameron is now, Zander worked for a local mobster named Joseph Sorel (Joe Marinelli) at a local rave club.
There, he sold drugs to young kids. One time, while working for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) Carly Corinthos (now Laura Wright) started flirting with Zander to make Sonny jealous – they almost had a one night stand until he realized he was being used and broke their relationship off. She didn’t realize Zander had real feelings for her. She left distraught and Zander blamed himself after Carly turned up missing after her car plunged into the lake. When she came back, she went back to Sonny but Sonny blamed Zander for making moves on her and fired him.
He decided he wanted no more to do with the Corinthos clan. Afterwards was when he and Elizabeth got together and Cameron was conceived. General Hospital viewers will also recall Zander died in a suicide by cop incident not long afterwards, having continued to fight with and go after Jason when Elizabeth was torn between the two of them.
General Hospital Spoilers – Cameron Webber Seems To Be Going Down His Father’s Violent Path
General Hospital viewers could point out several clues that Cameron seems to be going down his father’s violent path; for one thing when he was arrested in a recent General Hospital episode, he was lying to his mother! He said he didn’t do anything wrong, denying that he had picked up a mobster’s gun who had been killed, sneaking out from behind a dumpster as Jason and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) were rushing to Brick’s (Stephen A. Smith) awaiting car! Cameron took a potshot at Jason fairly close range and shot him in the back!
From there, Brick got him to a safe house and Carly later arrived, with Britt digging out the bullet and closing the wound, and administering a makeshift blood transfusion from Carly. The rage in Cameron against Jason, who he blames for murdering his beloved stepfather Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) had escalated to the point where he simply couldn’t resist the temptation to try and kill Jason when he had a moment of opportunity! He had set out to go after him anyway but was too late to find him in his room – it is uncertain how Cameron would have handled the Pentonville Prison guard assigned to guard Jason, or the orderly who Carly had assisting in Jason’s escape had they been there.
Perhaps Cameron would have smothered Jason with his pillow, since he was shackled to the hospital bed. Cameron is luckier than his father was – even though Zander’s father, Cameron Lewis (Zane Davies) was alive, he was unable to get through to his son to turn him to the right path because Zander blamed him for the death of his brother in a hunting accident. Cameron Webber was named after his grandfather. Cameron has a step grandfather who is also his attorney, and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) has stepped up to take over and be the father figure Cameron needs; let’s hope Scotty can get Cameron turned around!
