General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that May Sweeps is ushering in a newbie to the ABC sudser, and she’s someone you might know.
Daytime drama fans will recognize Kimberly J. Brown when she debuts in Port Charles the week of Monday, May 10.

If the actress looks familiar, it’s because you may have caught her as young Marah Lewis on CBS’s soap Guiding Light. She appeared on the show from 1998-2006.
She also stared in the AMC drama Low Winter Sun and appeared in the popular Disney Channel movie Halloweentown and its sequels.
On top of that she has guested on the television shows Two Of a Kind, Touched by an Angel and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Who is Brown playing on GH? It’s a mystery!
Brown told Soap Opera Digest, “I haven’t done a soap since Guiding Light, so I’m just thrilled to be doing something in daytime again. It feels like going back to something that holds a special place in my heart. It’s such a different experience as an adult, but it gives you that nostalgia and all the great memories of when I was a kid working on the soap.”
General Hospital spoilers: What Happens Next in Port Charles?
The execs at GH are keeping the details in regard to this newbie close to the vest. But as Brown told SOD, she may get to act opposite a couple of ladies she costarred with in the past.
She has played opposite both Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves; Annie Dutton, GL) who, “was my stepmom for a bit and Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos; Cassie, GL) played my aunt. It’s such a small, cool world!”
This is pure speculation at this point, but if Brown does act opposite either actress, there are a couple of possible plot scenarios to keep in mind.
Could she encounter Nina in Nixon Falls? Currently Nina is keeping a big old secret about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) being there and someone has to blow her cover at some point.
Then again she could encounter Carly as a member of one of the Five Families. Carly is bluffing her way past the families in lieu of Sonny and rumors have it that someone from one of the families could have a larger presence onscreen in the near future.
