Bradford Anderson Has Fun With Spinelli’s Australia Exit

General Hospital (GH) star Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) isn’t really relocating to Australia in real life, but that didn’t stop him from having fun with his character’s on-screen ABC exit.

The Sudden Exit

His exit comes at a time when many GH fans are already frustrated by the loss of familiar faces. It tied in with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) encountering problems in her personal life.

On the show, fans know that Bradford’s character Damian Spinelli and Maxie Jones had a long-term relationship. While they have a daughter, he’s also acted as dad to James West (Gary James Fuller).

By now, if you watched the daytime soap, you will be aware that the fictional family is relocating to Australia. That means Gary’s also gone.

Anderson Jokes About Australia

On Thursday, Bradford Anderson took to Instagram and shared a new post. In it, he and  James posed together.

Then in his caption, he wrote, “I told James that yes, I think he’ll love Australia, but no, he cannot have a wallaby for a pet. 🤣🤣”

Fans React

While he makes jokes about it, not everyone is all that happy about his departure from General Hospital.

One follower wrote, “I’m so very sad about all of this.”

Another person also revealed their feelings about the change on GH. They said, “We’ll miss you guys. This is so wrong🤬”

More people complained, and they didn’t see much to laugh about.

Another person said, “The writers have messed up. Yes, we all miss Kirsten, but now we have to lose you guys too?? Not cool. It’s time for a recast even if it’s not forever and we want you and the kids to stay.”

A follower tried to lighten the mood a little bit by saying, “Definitely will miss seeing you both on GH. Hope Spinelli loses his job in Australia and you all come back some day.”

Real Life vs. Fiction

Of course, in real life, Bradford Anderson continues life with his doctor wife, Kiera Anderson, and their two daughters. He’s also not disappearing from in front of the cameras, and he made sure that everyone knows he wants to keep on acting.

The exit line about Australia was simply a way to write Spinelli off the canvas. So, it’s not really a new life for him or his fictional ward, James West. But that doesn’t seem to make it any easier for ABC fans to swallow.

Hope for a Future Return

One follower hoped that perhaps he and James might one day make guest appearances on the show. They wrote, “The show won’t be the same without the Hunk of Port Charles! Hopefully you come back for a visit!”
