General Hospital spoilers and updates reveals actress Kathleen Gati (Dr. Liesl Obrecht) has revealed some sad news to her fans – she lost two of her former colleagues in recent times. As reported, James Caan and Gregory Itzin, both of whom Gati has worked with, passed away.
Kathleen Gati Worked With James Caan
When news broke of the legendary actor, James Caan’s passing, Gati took to Instagram to share a picture of herself and Caa. Her caption noted, “Had the honor and privilege of working with #JamesCaan on TV series #LasVegas several years ago. Condolences to his family, friends and fans. He will not be forgotten. #RIPJamesCaan”.
Caan was an American actor who was known for his film and television performances. During his tenure, he was nominated for several entertainment industry honors, including for an Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and a motion pictures star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He sadly passed away on July 6, 2022 at the age of 82. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.
Kathleen Gati Lost Another Colleague
When news broke of another legendary actor, Gregory Itzin’s death. Gati took to Instagram again with a picture of herself and some colleagues including Itzin with the caption, “My heart is broken to hear that @gregoryitzin passed away today. He was not only an incredible actor, but a beautiful and kind person. It was a huge honor to work with him on #24. He was also the one responsible for starting my audiobook career. I will always be grateful to him, and cherish the memories of working with him. Condolences to his family, friends and fans. He will never be forgotten. #ripgregoryitzin”.
Gregory Martin Itzin was an American character actor of film and television, he was perhaps best known for his role as U.S. President Charles Logan in the action thriller series 24. He also had a role on NCIS. Itzin passed away at the age of 74 on July 8, 2022. Again, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Itzin.

I have come to love the character of Dr. Liesl Obrecht. Sad to hear of Kathleen Gatis losses. There aren’t many actors and actresses of the caliber of James Caan remaining. It seems almost all of the old school actors are gone and they just don’t make them like they used to. He will be sorely missed.
