Why Did General Hospital Leave Elizabeth Out Of Trina’s Trial?

General Hospital spoilers reveal Trina’s trial continuing this week but for some reason, Elizabeth Webber won’t be there — still.

General Hospital Spoilers: Why Is Elizabeth Always Missing?

Although Cameron Webber (William Lipton) gave the horrible excuse that his mother couldn’t attend a trial in which he was a teenage victim of revenge porn, that excuse made no sense. She had to take care of a sick Aiden (Enzo De Angelis), a kid who is a pre-teen and was doing just fine with other people taking care of him while Liz was in Shadybrook.

It made even less sense when the trial continued onto a second day and neither Liz nor Cam were there, but Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has spent plenty of time in that courtroom, as has Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy). So, why would the mother of the second victim not find a way to be in that court and see what happens?

The Story Started Off Right

When Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) first launched her diabolical plot and released that sex tape of Joss and Cam onto the internet, Elizabeth had the reaction any mother would when Cameron explained to her what happened while not even wanting to look at his mother. However, since then, Elizabeth has seemed to have no part or concern with this story and none of that makes any sense.

Yes, Liz had her own story that didn’t involve her sons for a while, but that story ended up being told without her once she left for Shadybrook and for weeks, she has been persona non grata. As the trial kicks into high gear again this week, we will finally see Elizabeth, but she won’t be in court. She will be at work and none of that will ever make any sense.

This summer marks 25 years with Rebecca Herbst as part of the GH and Port Charles scenes, but for some reason, Elizabeth Webber has been relegated to supporting status — and off-screen status as Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) talks about her, but we rarely ever see her.

There were so many opportunities to do right by the character and the actress this year, but GH missed every single one of them. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see if the soap finally lets Elizabeth and her story make sense.

Elizabeth Rose: Elizabeth Rose has spent most of her long adult life writing about soaps off and on. She grew up on long-departed soaps Another World, Santa Barbara, All My Children, One Life to Live, and Guiding Light. Since college she has been a General Hospital lover and considers herself to be an encyclopedia of everything daytime.
