General Hospital (GH) star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) and his friends Giuliana Rancic and Anna Damergis got together for a good cause this week, and ABC daytime fans seemed very happy about it. Read on to find out why.
A Sweet and Caring Post
On Wednesday, Maurice Benard, Anna Damergis, and Giuliana Rancic posed for a pic at a function for The Puppy Coalition. If you don’t know the organization, it helps with rescue animals across many shelters and that’s very worthy.
In his caption on Instagram, the real life Sonny Corinthos wrote:
I had a nice time in Malibu at a gathering for @puppycoalition with @annadamergis and @giulianarancic. I wish every single dog could be saved.
Then, he tagged Embrace Forgotten Paws. Did you know that the foundation was founded by Paula Bernard? They rescue dogs and operate a non profit organization. But best of all, their slogan is “Because every dog deserves a forever.”
A Compassionate Devotion
Those General Hospital fans who follow Maurice know that he and Paula love animals. Their ranch style home is packed full of sweet creatures, and Buddy the Goat is a family favorite.
Once, he went shopping at Christmas time and ended up taking home a cute rescue puppy. At the time, he hoped his wife wouldn’t be too angry with him. But, he probably joked, as both of them love animals so much.

How Are Anna & Maurice Connected
If you don’t know, apart from his State of Mind podcast, Maurice Benard and actress producer Anna Damergis host a show called The Maurice & Anna Show. It’s been nearly a year since he announced a second season is planned on YouTube.
The duo mainly talk about real life stories and relationships. ABC fans who follow them also saw a bunch of interesting celebrities. They met and became fast friends back in the day when Maurice and his wife Paula moved into the same apartment building as Anna Damergis.
