The Old Video

Since he started State of Mind, the ABC star gained a lot of confidence and a lot of followers keen to hear more about various mental issues like ADHD, anxiety, and more. But it wasn’t always like that. On Wednesday this week, he took to Instagram and shared an old video where he seemed very discomforted.

In the video, the real-life Sonny Corinthos credited his son, Joshua, and his co-star, Steve Burton, for encouraging him to document his struggles. He added, “So, here I am. I’ve been through really rough times, [the] last 10 days with anxiety and not sleeping…No matter how hard anything is, I would say that ýou can keep going.'”

Next, Maürice pointed out, “I’m still here and maybe going to work on Monday for the first time in a while. So, this is my first video.”

A New Message

In the caption of the throwback video. Maurice Benard had more to say to his GH followers. In part, he wrote:

There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel,We always fight. We get through that pain and the thoughts and the embarrassment. Because we are STRONGER THAN WE KNOW And when we get through it, we are better than we were…

The ACB star also thanked a lot of people for standing by him and helping him cope with his anxiety. Hed also mentioned finding a “champion,” but for many people, Maurice is their champion.

Fans Respond In The Comments

Grateful fans who learned from guests like Dr. Scarlette Glasner and others on the podcast responded to the post. Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) told him, “Love you, Mo,” adding five red hearts. And Maurice told his colleague, “Love u back.”

Naturally, fans who watch the show also wanted to say something to the daytime drama star.  Here are a few of those reactions:

  • Glad you have a strong support system of friends, loved ones and even strangers in your online community.
  • Brave courageous and transparent! You are helping so many…I know because I am one of those many@
  • DONT STOP- maybe for a min- it’s all ok- just keep pushing thru !!!
  • I love that you are an open book. Thank you for sharing often. I understand anxiety. My son passed away in 2021. He was 26. So I understand anxiety and depression.
