Maurice Benard & Daniel Goddard Support Autism Superfan
Maurice Benard gives shoutout to an autism awareness superfan, and Daniel Goddard joins in.
General Hospital (GH) star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) often shares about mental health, and this week, he gave a soap opera superfan a shoutout for a very good reason. Interestingly, Daniel Goddard (Henry Dalton) also participated in that. Read on for more about it.
The Shoutout
On the weekend, Maurice Benard took to his Instagram Stories and reposted from the account of @JessicaCapshawsuperfan. If you take a look at that Instagram page, it’s mostly about Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) on Grey’s Anatomy.
If you don’t know, Jessica’s son has autism, and the fan account admin was talking about that subject. In the caption, it said:
I’m sharing what Autism is with everyone, and I’d be grateful if you could spare a moment to watch. As someone with Level 2 Autism. Can you all repost this and share on your story it mean a lot to me.
Daniel Interacts
Actually, the subject of autism seemes widely discussed these days, and not just by people who deal with it in their own home. Still, it seemed awesome that Maurice Benard, who boosts mental health awareness on State of Mind, shouted out the post.
Not many comments arrived for the super-fan, but Daniel Goddard turned up there. He responded by saying, “see you and grateful for you.” Plus, he added praying hands emoji.
The Supportive Cast
While it’s not known whether there’s autism in Daniel Goddard’s family, he didn’t need to shout out his support either. But that’s the thing about General Hospital.
While the GH cast might not politically agree with each other, they always seem supportive. Even Nancy Lee Grahn clearly backed up Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) at the height of fan-hate for him.
Will Jessica be On ‘State of Mind’?
On the subject of State of Mind, it doesn’t seem as if the real-life Sonny Corinthos ever interviewed Jessica Capshaw there. Perhaps the shoutout and repost was a hint that maybe he soon will?
This past year, Maurice had some excellent guests. Admittedly, it’s not always easy on him, but these days he fully believes his mission in life is to talk about mental health. That way, he knows others can say to themselves, “if he can do it, so can I.”
Upcoming Podcast
It’s not clear if there will be a new State of Mind this weekend, because it doesn’t seem as if Maurice advertised his next guest. However, sometimes he reposts the more interesting ones. Recently, he enjoyed a long conversation with actor Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption).
