Is Jon Lindstrom Out At General Hospital, Kevin Collins Gone?
Beyond the Gates (BTG) fans were left stunned this week when the new CBS soap announced two additions to the cast, soap veterans Jon Lindstrom and Cady McClain. The two will be playing the characters, Joey Armstrong and Pamela Curtis.
Of course, General Hospital (GH) audiences know Lindstrom from his long-time role as Kevin Collins, and he also once played Kevin’s evil twin, Ryan Chamberlain before the character passed away.
With Lindstrom’s new BTG gig, what does this mean for his current run on GH?
What We Know So Far
While Lindstrom has been vocal about how excited he is to enter the world of Fairmont Crest, he hasn’t commented on his status with GH. In return, GH hasn’t stated whether or not Lindstrom will be exiting the soap. It’s important to note that the actor doesn’t have a contract with GH and has been a recurring character for a while now. The last time he was seen on GH was in December 2024.
With that said, it also hasn’t been confirmed as to whether Lindstrom (or McClain) are on contract with BTG, or if they are on recurring status.
Could He Do Both Shows?
Hypothetically speaking, if he isn’t on contract with either BTG or GH, there’s always the possibility that he could do both shows. After all, GH co-star Wally Kurth currently appears as Ned Quartermaine and Days of Our Lives’ Justin Kiriakis; something he’s done for a long while now.
In a recent X post, Lindstrom noted, “… I’ve been keeping a low profile as I commute to the wonderful world of Beyond the Gates, created by my brilliant dear friend Michele Val Jean. Personally, I think this show is going to blow the roof off daytime & I could not be more proud to make even a small contribution to this ground-breaker.”
It’s interesting that Lindstrom used the word “commute” as it’s clear he won’t be moving to Atlanta, where BTG shoots. This might imply that his character is recurring and not needed on a daily basis; however, this is just pure speculation. Only time will tell.
BTG debuts on CBS this Monday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. ET.

I just really need to say that, the thought of Jason and Anna is just wrong on so many levels! Please, I beg you, do not do this!
