Ingo Rademacher has filled the role of Jasper “Jax” Jacks on General Hospital for 25 years and fans are going to be heartbroken when they discover that he’s leaving the show.
Apparently, the 50-year-old Rademacher is leaving the show, after all this time, refusing to comply with the production’s vaccine mandate, per USA Today.
Fans of the popular ABC soap will see the last of Jasper “Jax” Jacks in the episode that will air on November 22 of this year.
A Long Run with ‘General Hospital
Rademacher touched on this issue briefly in an Instagram video on Monday, November 8, telling fans he’d comment on it later, citing a lack of time.
“I will get back in touch with everybody and fill you guys in on what’s happening when I can,” the actor said in a brief part of a longer video on Monday.
As fans know, Rademacher has played Jax on General Hospital since 1996 and has been a regular cast member of the show for 25 of its 59 seasons appearing in over 1300 episodes.
Fans may also recall the primetime special General Hospital: Twist of Fate in which Rademacher also starred.
Transphobic and AntiVax Comments
Those who didn’t know any better might get the idea that Rademacher is leaving as a result of some transphobic and anti-vax comments that the actor made online over the weekend.
The actor shared an image of himself on Instagram on Sunday with the words, “I will stand with you to fight for medical freedom,” emblazoned on it along with the hashtags “#medicalfreedom and #coersionnotconsent.”
The actor began his tirade in an August Instagram video that lasted for three minutes in which he spread misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines.
The actor captioned the video with “To all the bigots that called for my firing at GH and made #fireIngo trend (thanks for the press btw) about a post of mine that is factually correct.
Getting vaccinated does not stop you from spreading the virus.
That’s straight from the CDC.
Mandating any vaccine is wrong but especially one that doesn’t help stop the spread, that’s nothing short of crazy talk.
If you want to take the vaccine, take it. Just know you’re doing it for yourself, not to save anyone else. You’re not a hero.”
In the midst of all this political and transphobic rhetoric it’s not difficult to understand why the production may have decided to distance themselves from the actor.
Fans of General Hospital can catch new episodes Monday through Friday at 1 PM Central on ABC. Be sure to catch up on everything happening with GH right now. Come back here often for General Hospital spoilers, news, and updates.

I stand with any person wanting medical freedom!!! Last I knew we were in America & I will not stand with this communism happening. Our fully vaccinated family member died from Covid. The vaccine is a joke. No consent. No comply. I can quit GH anytime. No big deal now. I have watched for 50 years and don’t agree with this bs.
In the meantime he doesn't care who gets sick or dies from COVID-19. We have been vaccinating people forever to go to school. When I went into the Army I had days of shots. None of my Army mates were harmed by these shots. All this refusing to get vaccinated is just the far(out) right throwing a childish tantrum. If they want to take a chance on getting COVID-19 then that's ridiculous, just don't drag others with you.
I have always like the character Jax as well as the actor. I hope GH doesn't kill him off, maybe he will go off somewhere, so maybe in the future he could come back.
