General Hospital fans were heartbroken when they heard that Tony Geary passed away. He’d played the role of Luke Spencer years ago. But he and his husband, Claudio Gama, moved to Amsterdam. On Tuesday, after Tony was laid to rest, Claudio shared a sweet tribute.
A Last Goodbye
In the post on Instagram, Claudio didn’t just share a photo of Tony. Fans saw that they placed some photos and other memorabilia on a table. And oh, how sweet – there was his cat Max, sitting in front of one of the picture frames. The photos were credited to Jim Warren.
The message in the caption was heartbreaking and charming. Claudio wrote, “We said our last goodbyes to Tony.” Then the message continued with: “He is now resting up where the stars shine bright and he will always be missed.”
Gratitude Amid Pain
Grateful, the tribute continued with, “We would like to thank all of Tony’s friends and colleagues for the wonderful support and respect you have shown him.”
A special thank you was also offered to Tony’s fans: “To all of Tony’s fans, thank you so much for the wonderful words of support and condolences.”
ABC Cast Members React
Tony Geary was loved by his fellow cast members. Already, plenty of them posted their own tributes to the late real-life Luke Spencer. However, that didn’t stop them from reaching out to Claudio and the rest of the family. Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) wrote, “Love you, Claudio,” and added a red heart.
Then Sarah Brown, the original Carly Corinthos, wrote, “Sending you love. I’ll miss this guy forever.”
More followed, and Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio) penned, “Sweet Claudio. Sending my love to you. What a beautiful life you two made together.”
Other ‘GH’ Fans Also Chime In
Many General Hospital fans reacted to the passing of Tony Geary already, but they wanted the family to know how much they appreciated him as an actor, and as a cat dad, a partner, and a role model for same-sex marriage. So, more comments arrived.
One person wrote, “Claudio!!! I am oh so very sorry for your loss. Sending love 💕 He will be missed by his fans and friends but I know he will be missed the most by you and Max.”
