General Hospital’s Laura And Portia Deserve All The Guilt In The World
General Hospital spoilers tease a town in mourning as Port Charles grapples with the tragedy of Spencer Cassadine’s alleged death. Two women who are beside themselves thinking Spencer drowned in the River Seine should really check themselves in the mirror and reflect upon their last year.
General Hospital’s Laura Really Made A Fool Of Herself
While it made sense that Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) would look at a pregnant girl with amnesia who was about to give birth to her grandchild and feel bad for her, Laura’s over-the-top insistence that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) could do no wrong was a bit much.
Sure, it turned out Esme was not faking her amnesia for a year as many fans had believed, but she was still the girl who drugged Trina Robinson and filmed Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) having sex for the first time before blasting it out onto the internet. Considering that Cameron is Laura’s grandson, one would think she’d have a little less sympathy for the girl.
Watching Laura call Esme sweetheart for a year didn’t do her any favors with Sprina fans, but for some reason, Laura is still questioning whether Esme could have been redeemed and is making excuses for her murderous behavior.
A savvy Laura should have suspected that Esme was lying when she claimed she didn’t get her memories back when she broke into Wyndemere, but she didn’t. Instead, she kept her out of jail, which led to the tragedy on the River Seine.
Portia’s Selfishness Was Ridiculous
Who can forget when Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) befriended Esme and got her to trust her with the hopes of getting Esme to leave town with Spencer and leave Trina alone? Portia put on a fake smile and even tried to throw Esme and Spencer together by suggesting they attend a parenting class when Spencer wasn’t even Baby Ace’s father.
It was sickening to watch Portia be kind to the young woman who drugged her daughter and set her up to take the fall for revenge porn. Watching her pretend that never even happened as Trina mourns Spencer is even more sickening. Tune into General Hospital weekdays on ABC to see if these women develop any self-awareness and realize what they have done.
