General Hospital’s Jane Elliot Snubbed by the Emmys – What Really Happened?
General Hospital news says that when it comes to Jane Elliot, a lot of fans can’t help but wonder this same thing out loud: what happened?
General Hospital’s Jane Elliot Not Nominated For An Emmy: What Happened?
Why didn’t she get nominated for an Emmy, despite the fact that she had a brilliant year on General Hospital with the reveal of Gio and the death of Monica?
Well, there seems to be a good reason behind it. Per the latest reports, Jane Elliot wasn’t nominated for a Daytime Emmy this year because she generally chooses not to submit herself for Emmy consideration.
As many of our loyal readers already know, it’s a voluntary process. Historically, she has opted out of the competitive submission process to avoid competing against her own General Hospital co-stars.
Plus, it’s not like Jane hasn’t gotten the recognition that she deserves for the outstanding work she’s done on General Hospital.
The actress was celebrated last year by the industry when the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) awarded her the prestigious Gold Circle honor at the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmys for her monumental 60-year career.
Of course, many GH fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some even commented with, “Considering Katelyn MacMullen and Cameron Mathison carried the show for a year and a half, this is a huge snub. Jane Elliott should have also been nominated.”
What’s Next for Jane Elliot?
Another critic wrote, “Jane Elliot totally deserved a nomination! Along with everyone mentioned previously I am also surprised that Dominic Zamprogna isn’t nominated.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Agree completely. Jane Elliot ‘s last Emmy was 1981. She’s way overdue for another one. Rena Sofer last won in 1995. Both should have at least been nominated.”
So far Jane Elliot herself has not made any comments about the matter just yet. We will definitely update you with all of the latest details the moment they come in. Watch this space for more.
