TV Insider reported about Troy’s expected debut back in June and notes his enthusiasm for the new role. The soap is keeping his exact connections under wraps for now to build up some suspense.

The site adds that recent spoilers show him arriving in town “hot on the trail” of a specific Port Charles resident.
Word around the soap community points toward Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) as his main target. Why he wants Ethan remains a secret, but a contract role means this story will last a while.

the new actor on the show seems to be excited about his role on daytime TV. Yahoo Entertainment reported that he praised the cast and crew for their hard work.
In the same article, the outlet cited Executive Producer Frank Valentini who said that fans would be “intrigued” by the new arrival.

However, his partner seems a bit more open online. A fan-maintained wiki says he is married to Bernie Mowry, and the timeline matches up with social media posts.
Wedding Vows Confirmed?
Bernie, who now uses the Appel surname on her personal Instagram account, (@bernie_appel_) confirmed the union via her bio and various posts about their big day.
She shared a wedding photo on social media to celebrate their marriage, and she seems to post more often about their private lives than Troy does.
When they tied the knot, photos arrived on both of their accounts with pictures credited to @baronephoto, and the day sounded like a lot of fun.
The caption read, “The most perfectly imperfect day filled with more love than I thought possible.”
A Hint of Personality
That was a very sweet post, fans agreed, but a slice of that humor arrived before that when Troy Lennon Appel proposed to Bernie.
He wrote, “08/12/24. Perfect place. Perfect people. Can’t really remember much of the morning after, so I’ll just say it was a perfect time.”

As for the possibility of little feet, neither has publicly shared that they have children, and Troy generally keeps his private life out of the spotlight.
They also haven’t publicly featured any pets on their social media accounts.
