In the months since Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) found out she was pregnant, any joy she could have been feeling has been overwhelmingly trumped by grief in the shadow of being diagnosed with leukemia. To make matters worse, she hasn’t been able to confide in her partner, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) about how conflicted and guilty she is feeling. Her heart is in the right place, but Willow wants to protect Michael from the pain of the truth, so she continues to seek guidance from anyone but him.
General Hospital Spoilers — Willow’s Family is in the Dark
Generally, when someone is diagnosed with cancer, they can expect their family and friends to envelope them with support. This support system is what gets the patient — and everyone else — through the experience of having a potentially terminal illness. But Willow’s support system is absent, because she’s keeping them blissfully unaware of her fragile condition.
General Hospital Spoilers — She’s Keeping the Secret for Herself, too
Willow isn’t just lying to everyone around her; she’s also been lying to herself. Determined to let the beloved Quartermaine family — Michael included — celebrate the happy new addition to the mansion, she has told herself and anyone who challenges her that she just can’t ruin their splendor. The truth is, Willow doesn’t want to face reality. She’s avoiding telling Michael she has cancer because she knows once she does, everything will change. The artificial version of her life she goes home to after work is the only happy place she has anymore, and Willow knows that will end as soon as everyone knows the truth. She’s not protecting her love bubble with Michael. She’s protecting the bubble she wants to live in, thinking if she doesn’t acknowledge the cancer, maybe it’s not really happening.
GH Spoilers Indicates An Emergency Will Shed Light on Willow’s Relationship with Someone Else
As Willow’s condition starts to worsen during her second trimester of pregnancy, she is going to feel like no one is in her corner, making her vulnerable to feeling extra cozy toward anyone who offers her a hand to hold. This just might spell the end of Willow and Michael if Willow cries on the wrong shoulder.
GH Spoilers say the most likely person to come between Michael and Willow is going to be T.J. Ashford (Tajh Bellow). The doctor and colleague to Willow has been a source of support ever since she was diagnosed. Being the physician who pushed for Willow to receive further testing, Willow may come to look at T.J. like a savior, and will lean into him when she’s feeling unable to connect with Michael — despite that being her own fault.
It’s also possible Willow finds herself back in Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) arms as she goes through this horrible experience feeling alone and isolated from her own family, absent her mother. If Willow turns to Chase, she just may throw caution to the wind and betray Michael if the guilt of cheating will make it easier to cope with than the guilt of thinking about leaving him behind with two children to raise on his own. Let us know how you think Willow is going to handle the hole she’s digging for herself? As always, stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers.
