This episode took a surprising twist- Maurice Benard’s (Sonny Corinthos) recent installment of his podcast, State of Mind, veered off course when he welcomed Chad, and here’s the reason behind it.

In the January 5, 2025 episode, Benard (Sonny Corinthos) kicked things off by highlighting Chad as one of the podcast’s most regular guests, along with fellow GH star Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri). “There’s just something about this guy that resonates with people,”
Duell’s on-screen father praised; “He’s truly valued, and his absence will be felt.” Benard then shifted the conversation to Duell’s upbringing and schooling, which naturally led them into a discussion about medication in the latter part of the episode.
“I tried Adderall once, but it really affected my heart,” Duell shared candidly after discussing his ADHD experiences. “So many people immediately turn to medication as their first choice.”

GH Spoilers: Talk Turned To Maurice’s Bipolar Disorder And His Medications
Duell reassured Benard, who has candidly shared his experience with lithium for managing bipolar disorder, that he held no bias against medication, stressing he knew it was necessary for him. “I’m not referring to you; when there’s a genuine issue, medication is essential.”
Benard responded, “Here’s my perspective — having experienced it all and tried many options; “I’m not fond of taking medication,” he confessed. “Yet lithium — it’s featured on the cover of my book — was a lifesaver for me. Love and lithium saved my life,” he stated, referencing his 2020 book, “Nothing General About It”.

Following an engaging exchange about the pros and cons of medication, Benard revealed something intriguing regarding his conversation with Duell. “I initially planned to discuss soap operas for the entire half hour,” he remarked as he wrapped up the first segment of their two-part interview.
“But it turned into something truly remarkable, delving into mental health and acting; it took an unexpected turn, and I absolutely loved it.”
