Diane has pretty black and white opinions when it comes to romance, and Robert isn’t used to that. He’s a fast and loose guy who likes to fly by the seat of his pants, never really needing the assurance that someone is going to be there when he gets home.
Diane’s relationship with Max Giambetti (Derk Cheetwood) taught us Diane definitely expects loyalty, consistency, and monogamy. In a world where competition for affection and attention is commonplace, Diane will continue to stand firm in her belief that she won’t stoop to the level of competing for Robert’s affection — with anyone. Little does she know, that might be exactly what draws Robert to her.
GH Spoilers Leak Holly is Gone
Holly was set on making things right with Robert when she came back to Port Charles, and it appears she’s done just that — albeit not the way she had intended. She was in love, or so she thought. She wanted to make this work, and Diane’s words cut her to the core because she knew, on some level, that the sharp-witted attorney was right. Holly and Robert are just too different to ever make it work. Yes, ever. Holly left town and it’s uncertain if we’ll ever see her again.

Robert wasn’t really seeking advice from Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) on how to play the field or have his cake and eat it, too. Let’s be honest, the man barely has time for himself, let alone juggling two women. Holly might not have taken to his lifestyle in time, given that he’s always giving his time to the people of Port Charles. Diane, however, gets it. They’re both workaholics. They both like to cut to the chase and aren’t into playing around. Okay, Robert is sometimes into playing around, but not like that. Holly may have been fighting for Robert’s attention, but Diane wasn’t, and she never needed to. All eyes are on her. Robert just has to let her know it.
