General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has a problem on her hands—someone wants her dead. To this end she meets up with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to try and find out who the mystery person is.
When a recent shooting erupted in Port Charles, NY, there was a crowd gathered and both controversial figures were there. It’s easy to guess Sonny was the intended target given his shady dealings, but recent events suggest Anna could have been the real target.
General Hospital spoilers: Who Wants to Punish Anna?
That’s because she’s been outed as a double agent from her days in the WSB and DVX, the soap world’s equivalent of night and day, good and evil. Sonny proposes that it’s the WSB that is after her and wants to neutralize what they see as a perceived threat. Hughes told Soap Opera Digest that her character “goes round and round with that idea.”
GH spoilers: Is WSB Targeting Anna?
Evidence suggests that the rifle used in the shooting was once in the possession of the WSB. Of course, that could be a planted red herring, meant to throw Anna off track. However, the odd couple theorize that if it was someone within the WSB, they either want to “Get her to resign … or finish the job by shooting her.” However “other pieces of evidence don’t fit into that theory” so, this mystery has a long way to go before it is solved!
Along the way Sonny, who was very good to Anna’s daughter Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberly McCullough) in the past, name drops the Pikeman security group, and this piques Anna’s interest.

According to Hughes, her character finds the names involved in this whodunit “really interesting … are they in bed with each other?”
She notes that the story has special interest for her because she likes “these conspiracy ideas!”
She added that this ongoing plot point is the kind she has “wanted to do for a long time, where you’re trying to put the pieces together.”
