General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that Chad Duëll, formerly Michael Corinthos on the ABC soap is back. He’s added an umlaut to his last name, and he’s made a return to show business after a long time away.
Chad Left The Role Of Michael Corinthos Early Last Year
Viewers recently witnessed Chad depart from General Hospital early last year-while fans saw Michael come back to Port Charles, Chad’s situation was different.
However, fans have recently received an update from the actor, which includes a sort of recent return; so, what did he share? Chad became well-known to many as Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, he took over the role from Drew Garrett, first portraying Michael in 2010.
However, in late 2024, Chad announced his departure from the soap. At the beginning of 2025, Michael decided to leave Port Charles, New York, to go to a specialized burn unit in Germany for recovery after an explosion.
Michael Returned As A Different Actor
Later in May of that year, Michael returned for the Nurses Ball; however, he was not portrayed by Chad-instead, Rory Gibson, known from The Young and the Restless, took on the role.
Recently, Chad seemed to be taking a break from social media-nevertheless, he made a comeback with a message for his fans-one of his first posts in 2026 wished his fans a happy New Year.
He began by mentioning his absence from the platform, stating, “Been off the socials for a while… always good to do a bit of a break from all the noise.” While he didn’t go into details, Chad suggested he is looking forward to exciting things in the new year.
As he expressed, “Hope everyone had a good holiday season.. Happy New Year… next one’s gonna be a good one.”
Chad Wore A Cowboy Hat In The Photo
In the photo, Chad is seen wearing a white tank top, jeans, and a black cowboy hat, and he is outside next to what looks like a fence. About two weeks ago, Chad shared a teaser for his interview with The Able Show.
The caption mentioned that the discussion covered various shows from his career, including Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place and General Hospital.
In the comments of his recent posts, fans expressed their happiness to hear from him. Some are hoping he will announce a new project soon, with a few wishing for a return to General Hospital.
